Before you ignore this and decide to do it yourself price out a new filter and full synthetic oil for your vehicle. You will exceed $25. And make an appointment to save wait times

Last time I went to valvoline they said $100 for full synthetic. I drove right out the door.
Presuming you have the tools and time.

Admittedly, I'm DIY and look for <$20 for Full Syn + filter deals. Granted I also just spent 6+ hrs changing gaskets to fix a coolant leak. Most people don't want to crawl under a car to save $30. I respect that.
I've changed my own oil 150+ times....yes, I've driven close to 1M miles. But I currently live in an apartment and wife's new car is under warranty. So much easier and traceable for warranty to have someone else do it.

I got it changed at walmart at $50 + fuel cleaning service. total paid $65+$1 something in tax. took them 20 minute before i got text stating they are working on my car and another 30 minutes to get it done. oil change, filter change, coolant and other other oil and liquid inspection/top up if required, washer fluid, lights check, wiper check, lubricant if required..i would prefer to get it done than saving $30 for DIY.

jiffy is available on groupon for $50-60 for synthetic. i used to get from jiffy via groupon for conventional one. used to pay $26 via groupon and about $3 on site for tax etc..in and out in 20 minutes.

I'd rather die than wait like a savage at my local Wally World. You literally have to be there at like 630 am to get in for the day, and then you're subject to Walmart customer service 🤨. Full synthetic costs about 100$ at my local but it lasts at least twice as long as a conventional. I routinely go between 7-9k between changes in my Volvo . Valvoline is perfect for me, I sit in my car and they're fast and I can see what's going on. Any coupon is helpful and Groupon often has a deal too

I'm pretty certain Valvoline's pricing is regional. Here in NJ, the list price for synthetic blend is $65.99 and full synthetic is $85.99, but they have a Groupon that lowers the price to $42.99 and $56.99. Those prices are for 5 quarts, and sadly my Chevy Traverse takes 6. Typically, I take the Chevy to the dealership because they don't up charge me for the extra quart and they often send me free oil change coupons -- probably because they are hoping I'll wander into the showroom where they can try to sell me a new vehicle. Meanwhile, my Hyundai only takes 5 quarts, and while my dealer will do a synthetic blend for $39.99, they typically take forever making it worth the extra $3 to go to Valvoline.

BTW, I respect anyone who is willing to DIY an oil change, but many of us don't have the means or wherewithal to climb under our cars. Though I implore anyone on here to not let a garage change either your engine filter or cabin air filter because the markup is often 3 or 4 times what you'll spend. An engine air filter replacement takes about a minute, and a cabin air filter depending on the model usually takes less than 5 minutes. Neither filter typically involves any tools.

Out of curiosity, what is ur general location? Trying to see if pricing might be regional or applicable to my area.

Could totally see prices $65-$80 and then you get $25 coupon.. or just go to a place that charges $40-$50 ALL THE TIME.. at most on full synthetic should be going 2 or 3x per year (cars 2012 and newer) depending on mileage... 2x if you drive less than 5k miles in 6mos.

If you're interested in a deal for Valvoline, look no further than groupon. Most times of year you can get a full synthetic oil change for 40-50 bucks rather than the going 100. That most certainly beats $25 off too. Fine print says you can only have one of those groupons a year most of the time. The way around that? Burner email address. Doesn't matter what payment method or car you end up using for the groupon you get. I think the only thing is you need to have a location near by that allows groupons, which they should have listed on the groupon ad. I've been doing this since probably 2012. With my current hybrid ford I barely even need an oil change once a year anymore.

Base price was about $65 for me a few weeks ago at Valvoline. Had a $15 off coupon so netted $50 + fees. Ridiculous but I was in a hurry on a Saturday and they usually don't have a wait.
Yeah, you're paying for convenience and saving your valuable time. Walmart is typically like $35 for a synthetic blend oil change, but unless you're there at the crack of dawn, be ready to wait 1.5-2 hours.

It's so cute that you all THINK you get full synthetic oil changes at these places. NOT. They drain 2 quarts and put in 2 quarts if you're lucky.

Do it yourself. Know what goes in your car.

If a station does that report them.

You're generalizing about a huge number of oil change facilities. This might have been true where you experienced it, if you did indeed experience it, but that's not what happens. Your tone is also obnoxious and condescending. Please cool it.
