Comment on Burn-in; it can happen in unexpected ways. (and yes, I have pixel shift on, and the screen is not set at a high brightness setting).

My son plays Xbox one games, and often mutes the TV while he chats through the game or his phone. That sticks the mute symbol on the screen. It isn't static in one spot, but cycles through three different spots on the screen. (right hand side, in a column)

While my other child was playing games (Red-Dead) some of the screens had a pink/red background for the sky. What showed up? the red parts of the mute symbol. Three marks in a row. It thankfully wasn't strong, but it was easily noticeable when the screen was a particular color. Invisible otherwise with other colors or screens.

Lesson: really bright and vibrant colors (like red) can leak through and cause screen burning if cycled for long enough, like the mute symbol. He plays with the sound turned to zero now, instead of just hitting the mute button.

Edit: this was on a 2016 LG OLED screen, FYI. Hopefully newer TV's do a little better?
They both have g-sync......
I'd argue it's more like comparing an expensive ass tv to an expensive ass tv

That's like saying a two door convertible is not as good on price as a family sedan.
The only differences between the CX and the GX is that the latter has G-sync and it sits flush with a wall. It's like comparing a minivan with folding seats to a minivan with stow-and-go seating

GX also has an atsc 3.0 tuner with CX doesn't have

I would estimate that it will be a while before the major networks provide 3.0 / hdr benefits en mass. The 3.0 is still bleeding edge tech.

Is this gx 77 the new 2021 model that is extremely thin?

Or am I thinking of the g1 model?

People still use TV tuners in 2021? Rhetorical question btw.
Cord cutting has been on the rise for years now. I still use tuners to catch basic channels for free. Considering the expansion of capacity and features with atsc 3.0, would be really nice to have when it does go mainstream.

Agree. More future proofing than anything else. But having the tuner built in is a lot more seamless than having a separate box, should you want it down the road
