MS Mice seem to eat batteries (rechargeable and otherwise) way faster than comparable Logitech, at least in my experience.
Perhaps, but it's really fkn hard to find mobile mice with a side button for this sale price.

Just buy an apple mouse
Nah.... those things are too low profile.
It's not that I like bulky mice but low rider mice feel too weird.

i've had the 4000 (or maybe it's the 5000, i forget, it looks the same) for about 10 years now.
it's excellent and no issues. for $10, might as well pick up a spare. many yrs ago i picked up a hard case on amazon for it, some generic one, and i can just throw it in my bag and not worry about the mouse getting damaged at all

As the guy who owns more than a dozen mouse at any given time (I can't use trackpad).

DO NOT BUY Microsoft Mouse.

- A fresh AA battery only last 1 week because that bright blue light always lights up
- The wheel rubber band loses its elasticity after 3 month and wheel is unusable.
- Makes loud click sound
- Poor warranty.

I am trying to get my only Microsoft mouse 4000 replaced and no luck.

Only buy Logitech quiet mouse, it does not have any of the issues above.

Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 is one of my favorite mouse to use because of it's smooth scroll wheel. I've owned 3, but unfortunately the scroll wheel will start to fail after a year or so, becoming sticky and not registering the scroll properly in my experience.

Compare using the same eneloops with a Logitech mouse. I guarantee the Logitech lasts 2x longer. This is with leaving the mouse power switch on.

Seriously. Why is a side button considered such a luxury feature in mice now?

It's just hungry, try feeding it some cheese and maybe it won't eat your batteries so much.

Somewhere on this planet, there are a million orphaned proprietary USB dongles that match the orphaned and now non functional wireless keyboards and mice.
