My experience based on other products I've bought off Amazon - These vendors that sell cheap China stuff offer a $5 -$15 "reward" for leaving a 5 star review. They even request you not to mention anything about this "reward" on Amazon else that review in ineligible for the reward. That is how these no-name products end up with high product ratings.

Bottom line - Amazon reviews are no longer trust-worthy.
Simply terrible. I'd have thought 33k reviews is a rock solid indicator of reputed brand. Sigh.

It's no-name thermometer with 33,000 reviews.

Do you really think you can trust that lol? Apply some common sense. I don't even trust some of the shills that have 1,000 reviews. 33k? Yeah right....

Few other things you really need to pay attention to from now on if you actually think these could be real reviews.

Right on the page....Product first sold on Amazon April 7, 2020;
So not only does it have 33k reviews, but amassed that many in under a year?

Secondly, it had 1,000 reviews in September, 2020. That means they want you to believe they amassed 32,000 reviews in 7 months? Lmao, you can't make this up.

I guess you can buy it for the sole fact it's only $4, but please, please don't buy it because of the reviews or because you expect it to work.
Wow thanks for all this detailed info. I didn't see all that anywhere. This is so convoluted, my head is aching. That too about a thermometer selling during the pandemic.

Shills are out of control on this one. Thumbs down is the best way to fight this and reduce this type of deceptive content. Sad to see how prevalent this has become on slickdeals.

It's made in China where people get paid 50 cents an hour in the factory. Their cost is probably $1.00 and they probably make .25 cents per unit after shipping. They make it up in quantity sales. Sell 1000 x .25 = $250.00.

I would not trust such a cheap product because it pertains to her health. What if you got covid, think you or a loved one has a fever, but used this and decide not to go to the hospital, then you die?
your logic is flawed. just because its made in China /Mexico doesn't mean its less accurate than the American made crap.

much like a blood pressure monitor, you are supposed to get a baseline and compare afterwards. Typical error is within 1 F regardless of where it was made and what brand it is. i've never seen one that is off by > 1 F

My assumption is the vendors on these shill deals pay an extra nice commission to Slickdeals to promote this crap.

These are never a good deal because they often are not correct in their readings. Get an exerogen thermometer. Skip these. It's your healthy after all.

It gets within 2 or 3 degrees of the correct temperature...for $4, be grateful for that.

Overall, these thermometers suck. I've had two fevers during Covid, of 101, and two different thermometers like these didn't detect it. Old school glass and mercury is the way to go. I prefer rectal.

Guy also forgot postal service for these companies are subsidized by the Chinese government so it really don't cost them anything to ship.

Thanks. Got one.
So many strange people here. I have 138 reputation points, 16 deals posted, and 167 comments. People thumbed down my comment simply because I liked the deal and said "Thanks. Got one."
