If you actually care about the picture on stuff you watch, your price point would start at $1k for a decent tv like the x900h but would probably move to $2k for an lg cx or some of the newer OLEDs. Save up 4k and you can get one of the best with the new sony a90j

How come they don't put Android on their cameras. I don' get it at all.
Is it a 5 year Costco warranty?

Keep in mind that this Sony 5 year warranty is NOT in-home.
The fine print: "To obtain warranty service: You must deliver the product, in either its original packaging or packaging affording an equal degree of protection to a Sony authorized service center together with a dated purchase receipt in order to obtain warranty service."

Google a Sony repair service center near you. Good luck. It will cost you hundreds to ship this TV out and you have to keep the massive box. This warranty isn't worth the paper it's printed on if you have to ship it. You're better off with the Allstate Squaretrade warranty if they offer in house repair. But read the fine print. Allstate really watered down the warranty since buying out Squaretrade.
This set doesn't display a proper 4:4:4 chroma signal, and 120Hz mode skips frames. The nits get to 370 in a reduced window, which means HDR is very weak. This is Sony's entry level tv. There will be a huge jump in quality with the 950 series. If that set drops below $1000, it's worth the investment. It dropped to $1099 last fall via military discount.
1) Built-in sucks, need Roku.
2) Most people don't even know what a pre-amp is.
3) Sony would be smart to include 5 HDMI ports for not much more money.
With all the mini game systems now, xbox/PS, Roku, tivo, appletv, blu-ray player etc, it's inexcusable that this only has 3 HDMI ports!
