I know - a cordless heat gun may be stupid, but I've wanted one to pair with my cheapy corded and had been watching this on Amazon and I believe this is the lowest price I could see from CCC. Hopefully a good deal for anyone in the market.

I have 25+ Dewalt 20V tools, and this is the only one I ever considered returning (well, the blowers are pretty awful, also...). I only kept it because I'm a Dewalt fanboy and I figure if this saves my rear once when corded wouldn't work, it was worth it.

The problems? Heat output is atrocious, and the blower fan is weak. As another stated, it eats batteries: it's nothing but a big resistive element converting stored energy to heat. If Dewalt fixed the blower fan to push more air, it could be passable as decent. Until then, it's only good for those who NEED it, or for those who worship the black & yellow.
I want this, but I can't remember the last time I used my heat gun
I don't own this. But no

This might be a stupid question but can you use this to start lump charcoal? Sometimes my BGE can be a pain to get going.

Read the reviews first.

It gets the job done but chows battery juice pretty quickly and does not get as hot as a corded model.

Dunno why this is so expensive, it's just a sturdy hair dryer.

Yeah just for a heater element and fan, it is pricy. No gears or power motors or high current speed controller like a drill, but i guess no one buys this.
