For those who have not spent $10 to recycle this month, OD is offering 100% back in rewards on select Duracell AA/AAA batteries this week.

Bonus Rewards: 100% back in Rewards on Duracell Coppertop AA/AAA 16-PK and AA 24-PK Batteries: Valid in store and at officedepot.com from 4/11/21 to 4/17/21 11:59 PM ET or while supplies last, whichever occurs first. Rewards are limited to 2 items per member. This offer cannot be combined with other Bonus Rewards offers on the same or similar products and services.

16 Pack AA = https://www.officedepot.com/a/pro...ries-Pack/
16 Pack AAA = https://www.officedepot.com/a/pro...ries-Pack/

24 Pack AA = https://www.officedepot.com/a/pro...ries-Pack/
24 Pack AAA = https://www.officedepot.com/a/pro...ries-Pack/

There is a 20% off coupon (39736651) which may reduce the OOP expense, but still keep the purchase over $10 for recycling.

There are price match opportunities at Walmart and Amazon to help lower the out of pocket amount. YMMV on this working through chat, but PM in store shouldn't be an issue.

Technically no but you can use the rewards to buy other things that you would normally buy and in that sense, the batteries are free (except for the sales tax). In my case, I use the rewards to buy U.S. forever postage stamps. Because they are "forever", I avoid any price hike on stamps and we will eventually use them up. As a result, we always have batteries on hand. Yeah, they do leak but we have enough to compensate. As others pointed out, use a coupon to reduce your out of pocket cash, never use rewards to buy batteries, and avoid buying online at the very end of the period.

Regarding the last caveat, I recently bought some at 11:40pm on a Saturday night, seemingly just before the deadline. Even received email confirmation a couple minutes later. But rewards were not generated in the system. Called and CSR said they were Sunday purchases outside the sales window. She didn't know what to do about the confirmation being in the window. Rather than wasting time with her, I ended the call and made another one days later with a rep who understood the problem and fixed it.
How does this work? How to get 100% rebate?
No. Unfortunately you can't roll rewards. You won't earn rewards on purchases made with rewards.

How do you get the 100% back rewards? Works out about $21 after the 20% off coupon, and store pick up for 24 pack aa pack.

If I use my rewards from last battery deal to purchase this, will I still get the 100% rewards, which means I am getting perpetual free batteries?

Thanks. Seems If you are only buying batteries from OD, seems you better just buy it from Costco without the hassle. You can buy 40 count pack AA or 32 count pack AAA from Costco for like $14-15.

I used to get my batteries from OD in anticipation of spending the rewards on beverages (water, sparkling water, etc) but my rewards account was somehow compromised. Chatting with the CSR, changing my password and number, etc did not fix the issue (someone was draining my rewards once the certificate was issued). I've given up and just resort to buying my batteries from Costco for the prices you mentioned. These OD battery deals are a great way to keep you shopping at OD, though.

Totally agree on Saturday night sales issues on officemax.com.

Those CSRs at officemax don't bend much or know how to use common sense to fix a relatively easy rewards problem.

Wow, you quit the game over something like that? Why didn't you just create a new account & soldier on?

Sure OD has fairly high prices, but like the guy said above, buying USPS postage stamps & using these rewards to do so is like getting free batteries. Pretty slick if you ask me.

I also use the rewards to buy clearance stuff in store there. And then back-to-school sales are always great there too.

It's a game, but it's not that difficult to play it, IMHO.

If you do a 100% rewards offer, you should get your rewards for the batteries the next day with your Member ID given at time of purchase. Don't forget to price match at Amazon/Walmart each time.

However, if you plan on purchasing in store and also have 10 ink cartridges to recycle on same receipt as 100% batteries you can get your ink rewards next day too. This only works if you haven't already recycled ink cartridges for the month. Recycling ink with a $10 purchase normally post a month later, but there is an ink recycling promo until end of month.
