Zhiyun-Tech WEEBILL-S Handheld Gimbal Stabilizer $269

Interestingly, this deal still seems to be alive (typically BH flash deals last 24 hours).
Each company comes out with so many variations and iterations so often it may be worth it to wait if you're not going to use this right away. That being said, cheapest I've seen it and probably the best portable/compact gimbal on the market.

If you have BH's credit card, there is also no sale's tax!

I like mine but do not have another to compare it with.

If I could buy it all over...I'd buy the DJI RS combo (w/tracking) which has a
stronger motor and seemingly easier setup.

But, price:performance? Weebil S is kind of hard to beat.

I like it. Works well for the price. Probably one of the cheapest for what it can do even at $70 more.

I have a FUJI XT30 and trying to find a compatible gimbal was hard. Eventually through research and talking to other FUJI owners, the Weebill S was confirmed to work with FUJI XT30. I ended up paying $200 for it used through reddits buy/sell subreddit.

Only used it 2-3x so far, but my short review is: for the price point, its the best in its price range. the old ronin-sc lacked many features that the weebill-s has for around the same price. plus, you can buy replacement batteries for fairly cheap, I think for around $15.00 you can get a extra set of batteries.

I have a Sony a6500 and have been considering a gimbal for it for awhile. Was tempted to pull the trigger on this, but after doing a little research it seems to not be fully compatible with the a6500. In fact sounds like there may be some hacks involved even to get basic functionality with the a6500. Does anyone have experience with the Sony alpha series and this gimbal? Or can recommend a good gimbal for an a6500?

Yes, it can even handle my EOS R + EF 24-70 II. It has pretty damn strong motors. I use my M50 as my main video rig setup though since my R is for stills.

From my experience, the tracking sucks on it. I got a combo kit a while ago with everything in it. I used the transmission kit like once or twice and never again. Same with the focus motor. I found that I use my setup as just a straight gimbal. Of course if you're doing more videography style shooting it'd help more.

I have the Ronin-S, Ronin SC and the Weebil S here, and the Weebil S is the one I grab more often than any other. It's super easy, batteries last a long time, folds up nicely and the ergonomics are most comfortable. Handles my Sony a7iii + 24-70 2.8 GM just fine and is very smooth.
Don't hesitate with this at this price, very nice gimbal!

Can you expand on this? What *can* you do without the module?

i dont have this so cant really comment on everything but what gimbal is supposed to do, this seems to do very very well that is, stabilizing your camera and adjusting it, selfie mode, other manual controls all within the gimbal controls.

but any smart features that requires an app connection im seeing that it would not be worth it

Yes. I have mine set up with a Canon 80d with a Sigma 18-35mm. It handles it no problem.
