what is the weight?

is the power throttled on the RTX 3060 in this laptop or is it the full 120 watts + 15 watts? If it is throttled, you could be paying for a 3060 and getting the performance of a 2060.

From the link: Weight (Starting): 2.11 kg (4.65 lbs) | Weight (maximum): 2.5 kg (5.5 lbs)

As far as the wattage, it's not noted anywhere.

That's the bummer. The RTX 3060 behaves very differently if it gets only 60 watts versus 120 watts. Manufacturers are free to allocate as much power as they want - eg. 80 watts meaning you will not get the full performance unless you find one suppling the full power. The "thin and light" laptops will 100% be throttled. The heavier the laptop, the more likely the RTX will be allowed to reach its potential.

Good to know. So the only drawback is the intel processor then, meaning if it was Ryzen, the laptop would run cooler and overall performance would be better.

How is this price point for RTX 3060?

Based on a cursory google search, the 3060 in the m15r4 appears to run at 115w

It is a full 120W RTX 3060. And as the other person mentioned, Alienware let their CPU and GPU run at full throttle even when temp reaching 90+ degree C.

Average for a 3060 IMO but Alienware ware build quality is much better than average, I've been unimpressed by the thermals of Intel Alienware laptops recently and will only consider a ryzen, currently using Asus zephyrus g15 with the 3070 and ryzen, laptop is awesome but it's an 80w 3070, that said thermals are great and it runs much better than my 2070, huge performance increases in and out of gaming, I want the Alienware ryzen to release though so I can return this for that, I'm happy with my but at the same point I understand it's crippled from the start and didn't know that when I bought it

My m15 r3 with a 2070 super would bounce off 100 and stay in the high 90s no matter what I was playing, I tried undervolt if with throttle stop but it didn't seem to help, I've heard it usually is all you need to do though, not sure why e didn't work, I've undervolted easily 20 laptops before this successfully, maybe I had actual hardware issues too, I did buy it open box at Best Buy

I realize that I was just pointing out it's not listed on the website. The m17 is a full 150W+15W on the 3080 so I wouldn't assume the m15 3060 would be completely crippled.

Yeah, I think it is very unfair for manufactures to sell RTX 3060 without informing people of the supplied wattage to it. There are a lot of people who will be sucked into thinking that all RTX 3060 are the same. Most consumers would.
