Portal Knights is a fun game to play. However, please note that they only put the base game on sale without the DLCs.
So base game is $8 but two major DLCs are $10 each. And the other smaller DLCs cost a total of $22. So all DLCs combined would cost 42 without the base game!
To me it is a better deal to buy the Legendary Edition which is not discounted for a total of $30. It would still be cheaper than paying $8 and having to buy the DLCs individually($50 total with this promo!), unless you don't want DLCs. But IMO the two $10 DLCs add a lot of contents to justify the $10 each.

Before buying the base game, there is also a free demo that you can download to see if you like it at all.

Also I like the PC version a bit better because you can create a dedicated server on home Wifi network which is more stable for multiplayer. On PC online co-op does not require Nintendo Switch Online, which is required on Switch.
You cannot play together between PC and Switch versions, I know because I own both.
Very nice post! Appreciate the extra links like the reviews.

Personally I highly recommend Iconoclasts especially for this price. The Trine games were good on PS (3 deviates from the formula), I expect the Switch handles it fine.

Risk of rain 2 is a must-have. Great with friends, but fine solo too.

My family and I love Portal Knights (Switch version)! The kids get to make their own world and there are a ton of special events and mini quests. I don't have time for habitual gaming, so periodic questing works well for me, but you can do it as much as you want. There's a ton to do.

I bought John Wick Hex when it came out on Epic Store, it's fun but I didn't really get the urge to replay it. Technically there's infinite replayability but the story wasn't all that compelling. $10-$12 is probably fair but not a great deal imho.

My kids love portal knights, easy purchase for $8.

By the way, you don't need any of the DLC for that game. The 3 alternate character classes are meh, unless you're into furries. And we don't play the horde mode.

What do you think would be the minimum age for kids to enjoy it?
