Seems like a good deal on paper...but it doesnt support standard mic stands/desk mounts...so you better really like the tripod stand it comes with, because youre not likely to find a mic arm that will work with this one...unless j-labs comes up with their own.
I could be totally wrong here since I don't own one, but I doubt they would reinvent the wheel as it comes to mounting. It seems to be 1/4-20 which is standard tripod mounting. I only say this because making something from scratch is expensive and it would be much easier for them to use existing components. That is you standard crappy ball head used on cheap tripods. Granted, this is not how mics connect, but it could EASILY be adapted to the right threading because 1/4-20 is so damn ubiquitous

edit: these adapters are available CHEAP on amazon like this: https://www.amazon.com/CAMVATE-Fe...279&sr=8-5
As someone who owns both, the Samson Q2U sounds vastly better for individual recording. It's not even close.

Looks like a nice Mic for the price - I like that it has a quick mute button, but it seems like the button is in an awkward place on the backside of the mic? If I feel a cough or sneeze coming on, it seems like it could be hard to locate and press in a hurry, but I could be wrong.

Good point.
The JLab Talk (now $60) [amazon.com] and Talk Pro (now $90) [amazon.com] both claim standard mounts if that is an issue.

They are also at keepah low price discounts at the moment.

Tom's Guide reviewed the Talk [tomsguide.com] (normally $80-$100) and liked it.

I'm looking for something for my wife who has been recording a podcast. Would any of these be good. She records in a room that gets a lot of noise from outside so good noise canceling would be a must.
Thanks

I run a podcast on the cheap, I would recommend a Samson Q2U over this in a heartbeat and I don't even know how this sounds.

It is about 2x more expensive, but is the gold standard for GOOD, cheap, usb mics. It also has the ability to do xlr Smilie

Podcast pack is like 60-70 at walmart and Amazon

I'm a musician and do a lot of audio recording. If I could make a suggestion for something I've used for a few years: the Focusrite Scarlett. It's a USB audio interface that accepts XLR and 1/4", it has phantom power for all types of mics, and the sound quality is phenomenal. You can also get kits that include a good mic and other accessories. The Solo version is good for podcasts, or they have models with more inputs for more mics/instruments if needed.

I have the pro and love it. People always say I sound great and this was a massive improvement over my normal headphone microphone. I kinda want to get this for travel, the pro is so darn big and heavy. I also got an adapter for $5 or so that allowed me to mount the Mike to anything. Right now it's on a standard boom mount by my pc mounted over my head.

Comes with a standard 5/8" input for swivel mounting - that's pretty standard? https://www.amazon.com/InnoGear-Microphone-Adjustable-Suspension-Windscreen/dp/B08BYCNTPC/ref=asc_df_B08BYCNTPC/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=475740658951&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=15142511726534071000&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9031285&hvtargid=pla-1005966743017&psc=1

Thanks. I've looking at this for a while but didn't want to spend the regular $50.

That's a 10 year old general purpose mic. Mini-USB FGS. The huge social media boom means there are a lot of superior designs out now aimed specifically at podcasters.

A lot of recent reviews on these from folks who do know how they sound. Most are quite positive. I have never heard them, so do not believe me.

As someone who owns both, the Samson Q2U sounds vastly better for individual recording. It's not even close.
