Anyone know if this will work with a LaView LV-KN988P84A4 8 Channel NVR?
One of my camera's died from water damage.

Thanks

I had this one from the last time it was $60 on sale. Ended up replacing it once and returning the replacement. The mic is very bad not useful at all ( sounds like a cheap tinny speaker and very muffled). Amcrest 4K camera mics are much better. Picture quality was good but just a bit off from Amcrest's. I use Blue iris with them. So for the price its an OK 4k camera for video only and you may get lucky with the mic.

Same here .. Aside from the mic issue I was having stuttering issues as well both in BI and the web console. The deal breaker for me was Tinycam pro compatibility. It says its compatible, which you can add easily but it kept on disappearing. Tried updating the firmware to hikvision which resulted to the same problem. Maybe I got a dud but a few users were also having the same problem. I ended up returning it

Horrible camera. Has very bad ghosting at night, regardless of the settings. Tried Hikvision firmware, no better. Installed Annke firmware back on, same thing. Junk, returning.

Hi goldbond1

fwiw I found the hookup to have repeatedly posted deceiving and deceptive reviews, thus I would not blindly trust what he has to say, and look for information from others first.

That particular video is certainly misleading and deceptive.

I've posted more here

So just a sec. You spent an entire thread criticizing a reviewer? Have you looked at any of his other content? I'm not saying he's the only source I use. I just said I appreciate his reviews including integration between blue iris and home assistant as well as using node-red. I also think he's done some good work on how to properly use ai and blue iris. And I did finish my statement with I will try it and post back. I will say this I'm not overly pleased with the amcrest. The night mode to date has been horrendous tuning. So I'm hoping that the c800 works a bit better.

Hi Goldbond

We've had numerous posts here on SD to pump Reolink products using that reviewers videos, and in particular the video you posted as well as his prior one.

Knowing what I know about Reolink issues with extremely poor low light performance I decided one day to take the time to review his videos ( which were referred to here )

Once I noticed the deception I posted a more complete review of them.

Due to the mistrust I have of that reviewer now, I no longer trust anything he has to present, and see little reason to spend much time reviewing more of his content due to the massive faults in the content I reviewed.

Regarding Amcrest:
They have numerous models - some perform well in low light. Depends on the model you pick. The 4MP 1/1.8" sensor model is what you should look at for low light conditions. ( this also applies with the other Dahua OEM and Hikvision OEM models.. newer model cameras and larger sensors are the way to go for low light performance )

Hi mat2000,
I appreciate all your help and reviews in this forum.
what 4K POE camera do you recommend these days? I'm looking for 3-4 bullet, a couple of domes and potentially a PTZ unit.
Thanks!

The options are not as simple now, harder to really give a solid answer to that question due to budget vs image capture quality. I wish I could point people to some options I would recommend family to consider, however the pandemic has really jacked up the entire supply chain. Could be an issue through 2022..

SouthernYankee had a good list to consider iirc at ipcamtalk

I'd look for a 8mp with a larger sensors such as 1/1.8" - harder to find now with the chip and supply chain issues.

Recommend checking out some of the thread over there and seeing if any of those models work for you.

You'll need to decide how much you are willing to pay for low light performance vs affordable ( these Annke's imho count as affordable .. )
