I have these and they don't have a humming problem. Humming is usually not caused by the speakers themselves but by magnetic interference. The most common culprits are:
- ground loops (Google/YouTube will explain it in depth, but the tl;dr is to make sure all of the equipment connected to the speakers are plugged into the same power strip/outlet)
- poorly shielded audio wires touching other wires or conductive surfaces
- the audio connector(s) is loose or broken somewhere
Same price at costco if people prefer the better return options.
Good speakers for a computer. Get a Bluetooth adapter from Amazon and they are a pretty decent deal for this price. Good bass...

Were there any changes to consider or worth noting in the most recent iteration?

i believe the sound quality hasn't changed much (which isn't a bad thing), but one notable thing from the model several years back is that i believe the newer one removed bluetooth capability. their bluetooth model was unsecured, so your neighbors could connect to it if they wanted.

260W? That's either an old graphic or they changed them again, the newer sets are 200W (seen them at Costco recently), the older sets (that I own) are 240W. I love mine, regardless.

It's been $90 at Costco and $70 at Walmart for many months. I snagged 3 sets as gifts at my local store a month ago and there were still 10+ units left on the shelves. Not sure how this is a deal. See previous FP post: https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/fp/627688
