Grabbed one of these along time ago before Bora bought Centipede when Lowes was closing them out for $40 (50-20% coupon when Lowes was still doing that) https://slickdeals.net/e/8346175-lowes-centipede-support-xl-portable-work-system-49-store-pickup-ymmv?src=SiteSearchV2Algo1

Anyhow, I have it setup in my basement, these come in handy if need to setup quickly. I have a 4 x 8 sheet of plywood on mine to make a work bench on.

Looks pretty cool. How sturdy do they feel with a heavy mitre saw or table saw on them?

I have the smaller 2x4' version and I love it. Built a 2x4" frame to set in the X-brackets and made it very secure. I've had my bench top bandsaw, spindle sander and miter saw on it at the same time. I will say it doesn't work good for anything you have to push (Like hand planing). The legs are hard to close after having weight on them on my smaller one so I'm a little timid about having this many legs. All in all I love it

I'd rather have 2x 4x4 than one 4x8.

These things are extremely sturdy with minimal to no shake when you put a piece of plywood on them to cut. I have used a piece of plywood on them with a hitachi 10" mitre saw as well as a generic table saw clamped to the plywood to cut things in a pinch and it worked well. What is even better is the company stands by the product. I bent two of the legs 4 years after I bought it, they sent me the replacement kit free of charge to get it back up and running. There is nothing more portable that makes cutting large pieces of board or Sheetrock at this price point, and it works great as a portable table.

I've been tempted by these, but I'd have to move a lot of stuff out of my garage into the driveway in order to clear enough space to use it. Sure I could use it in the driveway- IF my driveway was flat. It's not. My biggest issue with these is the amount of floor real estate they consume. With sawhorses there's way more room under then for my shop vac, any bench top tool not in use, lumber, jigs, etc. I can also shim a leg or two or use adjustable leg saw horses, and they set up and store way more compact then this.

If you are ripping plywood, working on the floor using sacrificial foam board is highly effective. It's safer too since you'll have more control when you are lower to the ground.

I just watch the demo video on Amazon and you'll notice that they're so careful not to touch or lean on it a little because it is flimsy. You will see their body while cutting are position way too far not to touch this centipede. You will also notice every time a cut is done, they cut the video out or if not, you ill see it wobbles. Working with big powertools like miter, table or circular saw on this thing is asking for an arm and leg or giving a away a finger. Imagine if this thing collapses while you're cutting something...

Good idea but wrong application. Maybe this is perfect for other lighter things that doesn't include powertools.
