Maho Bay/Beach is where the commercial jets land in St Maarten. While a nice place to visit for a short-time or join the normal hoard of folks, it's likely near-empty right now and few jets would be inbound. The beach itself is not great for swimming nor snorkeling. If you travel to STM once they open up for visitors again, make sure you try other local beaches such as Mullet Bay Beach or the often crowded but expansive Great Bay Beach (adjacent the cruise port).

There are much better beaches on the French side but it will be closed for some time + a lot of hurricane damage still exists from 2017.

I enjoyed my time there. Loved driving around that little island. Very hilly. Not as developed as, say, Cancun, but it was fun.

Me and the Mrs just came back from as the locals call it Sint Maarten march 28th of this year the island is fully open and has recovered nicely from the devastation of the hurricane that hit the island not too long ago. We stayed at the Sonesta at Maho Beach and we had a fantastic time the best time to go is now especially with covid protocols still in effect where the resort is not over run with tourist. Toured the island and got some amazing photos while there we paid over 4 grand on this trip so this is a phenomenal deal I'm not sure what might not be included in this package it's probably a great starting price. The liquor was abundant and everything was included and the meals were small and healthy and the gym was really nice I worked out every morning before starting our day.

For travelers with accommodation on the French side:
If you are staying in an establishment on the French side of the island, a negative test result of less than 72 hours is mandatory.
Unlike arriving from France via Grand Case airport, isolation for 7 days upon arrival in the French side is not mandatory, but strongly recommended, as well as a PCR test at the end of this period.

In my experience, people aren't nude at the resorts, they're nude at the beaches (and even that seems more like a French side thing). The beach at this place is small and crowded.

I stayed at this place once and it was beautiful, but the attached, larger resort is not. They advertise a lot of restaurants and such but realistically Ocean Point only has one, single restaurant. It is really good. All of the other restaurants are at their other property that is attached to this one. They all suck. After the first day we had every single meal, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, at the one restaurant at Ocean Point.

As an aside, I've been to St. Martin many times now, and one of the best things about it is the food. If you are planning to only go once, do yourself a favor and DON'T go to an all-inclusive. You are missing out on all of the great local food options. It's an easy island to get around. There's like one main road that takes you around the entire island.
