it's not, i use aldi all day every day, been knocking it
around for years, and it's good as new, plus there's
no lame paint job or logo to eventually sluff off.

besides, most rolled steel comes from china these days
so this rei tumbler is from the same source, only with
more design and quality control specifications.

look, i get it... every other thread on SD degrades into some don't buy china squabble, but when will you people wake up and realize most of the name brand stuff is from china anyway, not just because it's cheaper, but because usa's manufacturing base is gone.

"pillow guy" mike lindel was on jimmy kimmel just last night and admitted he can't make many fabrics he wants in usa anymore because we simply don't have the mills up and running to make them. so downvote me all you like, i'm just posting an inconvenient truth.
The profile on these works better in some car cup holders. With other brands I have to drop to a 21oz size.
6 usd for a tumbler of this quality sounds like a cheap knock off from China.

While I don't care about the origin of my products, let's not pretend your Aldi cup isn't a product of lower quality reverse engineering.

Used to get HydroFlasks all the time as I always heard they were the best. They definitely rock ad keep liquid cold/hot for a very long time. However I always had problems with mold coming up on the cap. That was with three different sizes.

I tried their competitors, which were also much cheaper, and havent had that issue. More specifically camelbak and their insulated bottles.

I cringed when the kids wanted these. I used one of theirs fishing one weekend and have been buying them ever since. This is a great price for use and also for giving as gifts to people that wouldnt spend the $25-40 they sell for.

The camelbak has been reliable for me the past year or so

no name double stainless steel wall tumblers with covers like this are $6

i'm drinking my ice tea out of one now that i got from aldi's years ago.
the few ice cubes i put in there are still clinking around 8 hours later.

so all you are paying a premium for is marketing and a pastel paint job.
