not really. need to get the g series to get the oled evo panel
I would say it's probably not worth the upgrade. The game mode is nice if you play games, but you can do the same thing manually on the CX. The remote upgrade is minor but lets you do NFC from the couch for screen sharing rather than walking up to the TV. You can also mirror the screen back to your phone that way. No real difference in picture as the panels should be close to identical (within manufacturing tolerances).
Smoking deal if you're in WA,CA, or don't mind driving to one of those stores.
Watch FOMO's latest videos, its debatable at the moment what an evo panel really is and whether the G1 is always brighter, panel lottery big time right now

The real world effect is that shadows in non-game media, especially in indoor scenes otherwise well rendered, are too dark and some detail is lost.
Other than that, really like the upgrade from a 2016 65" LG OLED.

FOMO doesn't even have a G1, so he's a pointless person to reference.
You can't call something debatable when the N is so tiny that you can barely even consider it a sample set.
considering that the Sony A80J recently dropped in price, I would recommend the Sony over LG as it is more color / grayscale accurate out of the box than the LG.
Get the Sony if you're more into watching TV/Movies/Netflix
Get the LG if you're heavy into gaming and need the VRR functionality
