Mining is a contributing factor to some shortages, but the real culprit is supply chain disruption from COVID.
I bought the 850 for 159 a few months ago...still sitting in its box trying to build a new computer 😂

Pretty good deal right? I feel like I paid around $150 for a Seaaonic gold 750w around the same time last year.

It's a good price for the foreseeable future. I'm pretty sure the days of under $100 top tier PSUs are over. Mining is the reason for all the tech parts shortages and the inflation. There is also the stupid trade tariff put in place by a (insert word for whatever is the opposite of smart).

Not good for use with nvidia 3000 series cards per the LTT PSU tier list. Has faults with the quick power loads of the Ampere cards.

It's mining to me for sure. They are buying up all the stocks and causing the shortages. If all the governments suddenly put a stop to it then we'll be back to normal fairly quickly. Covid is just an excuse now. Bitcoin at its crazy prices starting from last September are fueling the shortages.

Dell, Lenovo, and HP never had too much problems with supply chain during Covid.

Don't you think the Dell, Lenovo and HP's get parts before Newegg and amazon thus covid is part of the issue for system builders.

I would switch if you don't mind spending a little more, Seasonic is known to have great warranty no hassle. The extra 100 watts could come in handy with how much of a beast the Nvidia 3000 line is.

It says for "Seasonic Focus based units made prior to Jan 2018." I'm hoping these units aren't affected.

I was a system builder for several years...Seasonic was the best of the best...rarely had a problem with them.

Johnny Guru was the go to site for in-depth, unbias reviews back then...
