At this point, it's too expensive for what it is nowadays.
Milwaukee has come out with better lights that are more versatile and cheaper.
You can buy two of these for $30 less and they are not a single situation tool.

Even without the free battery deal that was hard to get, I still think this is better for most people. You even get an additional 50 lumens combined.

Also 8 hours on high at 700 lumens each vs the underhood light at 4 hours on high.

This is a classic example of Milwaukee not shifting their lighting prices to account for age.
They even still sell this light at 100 lumens for $50.

Just one of many examples.
Agreed. $150 for an underhood light, is just TOOOO much. It may be "discounted" but that doesnt make it a good deal.

Wow this never goes on sale. I've waited for years for this thing to go on sale eventually just buying the rover 2 light (which is a great underhood light for steel hoods due to the great magnet).

Good find OP

Been waiting on this forever so I pulled the trigger. This rarely gets a discount and is supposed to be a great tool for under hood and use in other tight spaces. I guess I can always return if it doesn't live up to the hype.

Thanks for posting!

Make that $50 less, shows $49 for the Rover bare tool. But on that note, I doubt the rover can stick to an aluminum hood. Not to mention many vehicles have NVH padding under a majority of the hood, limiting a magnetic light to attach to the outer edges, casting shadows.

But I agree on the price, especially since it's never on a deal. I would love to see other mainstream brands (dewalt, makita, ryobi) release something similar to break up the monopoly. Harbor Freight has a $30 rechargeable one that's clearly inferior, takes 4hrs to charge and is hit or miss if you get a bum battery that lasts 30 minutes.

Wow, that worked for me as well! Thanks!

I was waiting for this hood light forever like most, but given that I have also been waiting for the rover deal and keep missing it, I think $49 for a rover is more of what I need anyway.

Thanks!

Would you mind sharing the zip code you used? Thanks!

Edit: Nevermind, just selected a random zip in Texas (75701) and it worked, thanks.
