Got a refurbished model and will be taking it back due to screen glitch. Aside from that It is a pretty good value though. Runs most games at decent frames. The gpu does run hot, but it has been happily mining away at 33mh for the last five days. Stable with no crashes.

I bought this laptop for $800 7 months ago (thanks chip shortage)
It's a great machine, cpu out performs my 3 year old desktop, but it gets HOT. It's the hottest laptop I've ever used.

hmmm... seems to be the running theme... running too hot. Is it TOO hot to keep on your lap? how hot is hot? has anyone been worried or had issues with overheating? sounds like a deal killer but i also dont know how this compares to similar gaming laps.

Yes, it was too hot to keep on my lap. I velcroed a cooler to it so I could game on my couch.
I think dell released an updated that throttles the CPU under 100 C. I was posting cinebench scores in the 4500's before, now I'm posting in the low 4000's.

If it makes you feel better it's totally stable, just really hot.

But that means very early death. MB and GPU are cooked, so they won't last.

I'll most likely replace it in 3 years anyway.

I bought this laptop about 2 weeks ago. I had to return it a few days ago. I am not picky about laptops but the build quality on this laptop was not good. The laptop ran hot during normal tasks. The driver side of this laptop is a nightmare. I couldn't ever get the drivers to play well with each other and the laptop would constantly install the wrong drivers from Windows Updates. That wouldn't be a problem if the Dell website didn't list the incorrect video card drivers. Installing from AMDs website would cause the display to black out. Even on a fresh Windows install. Then going through the multiple threads on the subreddit for the laptop to fix issues like this was frustrating. I get some gaming laptops you are going to have to make a few adjustments to but the issues were right out of the box from day 1. If you are looking for a laptop that you can just buy and not deal with troubleshooting then this is definitely not for you.
