AMD Ryzen 9 5900X Vermeer 3.7GHz 12-Core AM4 Boxed Processor

Hard to find high end CPU for MSRP.
I noticed whenever their inventory became less (or product become popular), Microcenter start to increase their selling price.

For instance, they also have Ryzen 5600X in stock but their price is $349 ($50 more than $299 MSRP). I didn't know this is legal. It's similar when the C-19 started, stores jack up prices for toilet papers, masks, hand sanitizer, etc.

QA Note: As the OP's title says, this is in store only. If OOS for you, try another store if you can.
Good Deal?

....
I think most people that hasn't bought this yet are likely waiting to buy this for MSRP or less. Not buy it at 10% higher than MSRP at ebay. For video card, people may want to buy it ASAP to get into mining as soon as possible even if it means paid a lot more for video card. But they can use something less than 5900X for mining just fine so no need to pay 10% over MSRP for it at ebay.

I mean in general. Seen people win 5900x/5950x in Newegg shuffles and offer to ship them straight from newegg and no one wants it. (Common thing in the discord groups)

I'm kind of tempted, but I think I'll wait for the next gen Amd in 2022/2023. If I can get a 3080/ti before then this year I might get it.

I'm waiting for it from Amazon for MSRP or less so I can get 5% back and it be delivered to my door for free with super-easy returns if needed.

I could go to Microcenter in Dallas (assuming they have it) but then I'd actually have to drive in the car, put wear and tear on the car, not get 5% back (although I could get 2% back), and spend an entire half day obtaining the processor when all is said and done.

So I'll just keep using my 3900X for now.

Yes, at this point it might make sense for a lot of people to just wait for the next big release. I might do that if the next big CPU release didn't require an entire new motherboard & socket which I assume that it will.

Georgia Microcenters have dozens of 5950X's in stock at MSRP ($799) as well

The Dallas store also had 3080 and 3070 video cards today along with AMD 6800 and 6900 cards.

I do like the fact that they only allow you to buy 1 card/cpu at a time.

1 card or CPU per person, per month!

I think AMD is finally churning out a lot more 5900X and 5950X CPUs. Demand is starting to be met, hence the drop in prices from scalpers, even on Amazon.

All I want is 1650 or 1660, but even those are hard to get.

Could also be lower demand now that Intel's new gen CPUs are out and they seem to be easily available with Intel's lower end CPUs being good buys.... but they have nothing to compete with the 5900X.
