If you go to a fire station, they have old fire hoses they can't use anymore. They need to cut out the connectors to verify you won't use it as a hose so all you have to do is fold up the end and make handles from duct tape.

They usually have different size ropes so your can change the difficulty levels. I think my heaviest is 4" double jacket fire hose.

They even have tires if you want to flip stuff, just call up your county or state to coordinate pickup. free!
I'm here because this looked like a good garden hose deal.

1.5" diameter. Probably should add that to title or description. I've been holding out for a 2"x30' one based on other comments saying 1.5" isn't heavy enough at this shorter length.

Too short. Rope flow felt awkward so I ended up returning and getting a 50ft rope. Much better.

I loop mine around one of the base supports of my cage, works great.

I also recommend looking at a Manila rope. Battle ropes do their job well, but suck for climbing. A Manila rope can do both jobs. Even a short length of it can be used for pullup variations over a bar, even if you don't actually mount it in a rafter or tree.
