Reviews seem to indicate they dropped app support so you can no longer adjust audio settings on these. Also will only fit comfortably with smaller ears.
"Bang & Olufsen" and "$39" don't really belong in the same sentence....
it's like saying "Jeff Bezos bought a ticket from Seattle to Sacramento on Greyhound bus"
Bang and Olufsen make some absolute garbage and mediocre crap these days. They're just trading off their "prestige" and not on making actually good products.

That's what I figured....
Fortunately, we'll probably never see Grado earbuds for $24.99 at the local Walmart. (at least I hope we won't)
My main gripe here isn't that they sound terrible — the audio quality is slightly better than Apple's Airpods — but poor ergonomics, average sound, and lack of comfort whatsoever make them impossible to recommend.
overall the reviews on amazon/costco state: While sound quality is mediocre, at best decent, it will only work well if you somehow have a B&O sound card installed and only in that instance will it work well with it. QC also seems to be an issue as some were DOA and wouldn't pair at all with any device. It is also bluetooth 4.2, which is outdated by at least 2-3 years as bt 5.0 is out already and most devices with bt 5.0 will have significantly better battery life/connection/sound quality.
imo the cons outweigh the pros: only 3-4 hr battery life, shit app support if any, buttons are horrible, sound quality decent, but for $40 you can do better with plantronics, or perhaps those generic chinese copycats. The main problem is the 3-4 hr battery life, most devices nowadays give at least 8-12hrs+. Don't buy, it might be MSRP $299, but thats just because of the name.
I received mine today. I have also read a lot of horrible reviews, but for $40, I think this is a great earphone. If you feel warm and sweat with over- or on-ear headphones, or if you feel uncomfortable wearing in-ear earphones, this can be a good alternative. I was puzzled at first how to hang it on ears, but once I figure it out, I feel it quite comfortable and It seems it will never fall off from my ears. I read a lot of complaints about the short wire behind the neck, but I just hang it on my chest side, and I find no issue. I don't know what the software and Bluetooth connection issues are. Surprisingly, I could connect to 2 devices (iPhone and iPad) and switch between them without re-connecting or disconnecting each time. I am no audiophile at all, but the sound is quite good; I don't agree that sound is just decent or mediocre. (It's B&O anyway.) If I find some problem later, I can always return it to Costco. But for $40, I will probably keep it.
"In January 2020, Bang & Olufsen A/S reported its third consecutive quarterly loss as the Danish hifi maker struggled with a buildup of inventory after consumers balked at buying $500 headphones."

And you think Bezos was born with a plane ticket

That is an interesting analogy.
Thanks OP.
