Update: Back in stock at $66.19.

I was looking at pliers sets on Amazon and saw this Tekton 6-piece set on sale for $56.49. The regular price seems to be around $80. The tongue-and-groove and the slip-joint pliers are made in the USA. The rest of the set in Taiwan.

I think the two USA-made pliers (groove joint and slip joint) are both made by Wilde Tools, who make outstanding stuff. The rest are made in Taiwan.

Yes, they are definitely made by Wilde. Very solid pliers.

Biggest mistake I made buying tools was buying cheap off-brand shit. Never again. Knipex, Klein, Channelock for this stuff.

Yeah these are not offbrand shit. The made in USA are made by Wilde tool. Extremely solid pliers. I actually prefer them over the channellocks. Taiwanese pliers I haven't tried but the rest of Tekton's line is pretty solid so I really wouldn't consider it shit either.

I am extremely skeptical of a brand who sells 6 tools for 50 bucks on sale. With Knipex a single tool costs 50 on sale. And people (professionals) buy them at that price. If this is all that you say it is, why would anyone pay 50 bucks for a Knipex diagonal cutter?

Tekton is a good brand, it's not at the top like Knipex. You can pick up a set of Channellock plier set for roughly the same price. Is Channellock a bad brand? Absolutely not, it's durability depends on the you're abuse. This set should be sufficient.

The two made by Wilde are great quality, I don't know about the rest. Just as an FYI, Wilde is the OEM for several truck brand pliers as well. I've said it in previous threads, Tekton's best feature is their customer service and excellent replacement policy. Not a shill, but definitely a fan as they are one of the best tool values out there.
