These are typically solid values at this price point. And the legacy is SDOTD far less often than the ASATs.

I got the last ASAT deal and wasn't too impressed. Flipped it for a small profit and called it a day. These are intriguing, tempting.

I also got the ASAT deal. The neck was too big for my preference and the built quality was poor. I wound up returning it. They are good beginner guitars though.

These are better made than ASAT guitars. To me ASAT's finish is not that great.

As for G&L Tribute Legacy in this deal you will be hard pressed to find comparable guitar for $300 new and shipped. True, these are not professional level guitars, bit for beginning to intermediate players these are great.

I don't think it's such a difference between ASAT and Legacy etc as it is between the particular model. The rumors are that these ones that go on sale for the $300 price point don't get as much finish work as the ones that don't. I've played some very nice Tribute ASATs and Legacy's and I own a Fullerton S-500 which is an incredible guitar.

Just a heads up that these most likely will not come with the US made CLF-100 pickups. The Musician's Friend models have pickups made in Indonesia to G&L specs. Not to say they're bad (both are machine wound, so if truly same specs you probably won't notice a difference), but they're not going to be CLF-100s despite the listing specs on MF.

Where do you see MF saying these come with the US made pickups? I don't see it mentioned in specs.

The CLF-100s are a US made pickup. That has been one of the big selling points of the Legacy Tribute...you get the same pickups that they put in their US made guitars. That certainly doesn't make this a bad deal, I just thought it should be noted.
