Cons:
- Android version updates & security updates end on October 2021
=> Warranty: 6 month Google Manufacturer Limited Warranty, which means if you buy it now, your warranty will end in November.
- Released in the States on October 18, 2018; a bit old hardware but still works fine IMO.

Pros:
+ Brand new phone (just like the previous deal from Woot)
+ However, it is UNLOCKED bootloader this time, which means you can run Custom ROM such as LineageOS, AOSPExtended, Havoc, etc.

Or you can just flip it for the T-Mobile: Trade In; up to $380 off for Google: Pixel 2 series, 3 series, 3a series.

No it doesn't, that's sim locked and unlocked. Bootloader unlocked allows you to download 3rd party ROMs

From Woot website: "Google Pixel 3XL (Unlocked) (NEW) - Not Pink...The bootloader is UNLOCKED!!!!!!!!!! on these phones."

How do you live with yourself time consuming by spreading misinformation & confusion. 3 strikes you're out!

Any idea if this works with a GV number?
GV is viewed as landline number. You can get numbers fro eBay, I heard.

This 128gb model for $255, or a refurbished 128gb Pixel 4XL for $330?

I need a little advice... I'm still using a LG Stylo 2 so I'm obviously not super worried about updates. I want to put this on Verizon. Do I need this bootloader unlocked one or is there a different cheaper deal without that?

If a bootloader is locked, it means you can only use it with the specific carrier listed (like T-Mobile for example) and not another one. Unlocked means you can use a sim from any carrier.

There's too much misinformation about the "unlocked" part of this floating around.

An "unlocked bootloader" means you can put custom recovery, ROMs, and kernels on your phone. Ostensibly, this is beneficial for development work, but it is used by the more tech savvy to customize their phone with firmware and software that has been tweaked or modified. It also allows for easy implementation of root access using tools like Magisk. A lot of people (myself included) do this for system-wide ad-blocking (so ads don't show up in apps or browsers) and replacing YouTube with something like YouTube Vanced (which allows background play and avoids ads).

When it comes to the carrier, you want a phone that is "SIM unlocked" meaning it will work with literally any carrier for which it has radio support. This phone is SIM unlocked, so you can use with any carrier of your choosing. Note: VZW uses a form of whitelisting (where the phone must be explicitly allowed), whereas most other carriers use blacklisting (all phones are allowed unless otherwise noted). You can use this phone with VZW, but you'll almost certainly need to get it "provisioned" (VZW will need to grant it access). You almost certainly cannot just put your existing SIM into this new phone without contacting Verizon first.

No. No switching rebate bonus for ports from GV. They have a list of carriers ported from which qualify for the rebate.

I sincerely hope that was a joke.

Does that mean it's possible to get security updates past the supported update that is coming up this year?
Yes. Technically the bootloader on these is locked out of the box, but you should be able to go to the settings and tick the"OEM unlockable" button. From there you would unlock your bootloader using fastboot with a simple command. That being said, to flash any of the aosp roms you have to have a computer (as far as I know) and be able to at least follow a set of online instructions if you have no knowledge of the process.

The other thing is developer support. Unless you plan on compiling your own roms then you will be depending on the community to supply. Fortunately, in this case, pixel devices are well supported.

I don't see a brand-new Pixel 3 XL on ebay in the $150 range. There are refurbished ones and some Pixel 3A XL, but not Pixel 3 XL. Maybe you can provide a link?

+1. Also got rid of my pixel 3. Shitty battery life, and sometimes it rebooted and overheated multiple times for no reason. Glad I traded it in.
What did you upgrade to?
Honestly curious because I also have a 3 and I am not sure if I want to stay Pixel for the pure google experience or if I want to go to an alternative.

I have not had the issues you mentioned with the 3 but I am hesitant about the 4 with the initial problems that people had (maybe this has blown over now?)

Google Pixel 3XL (Fully Unlocked) (Scratch and Dent) is available for $130. Never bought scratch and dent items from Woot before. How easy to return if not good? is worth the risk over $90?
It's all YMMV. A month ago I got the Pixel 3 (not the XL) from the Woot Scratch and Dent sale. The body looked new but there was 1 scratch on the screen. I added a glass screen protector which I got on eBay for $5 and now the scratch is hidden and the screen is protected. The phone itself works perfectly.

In the Scratch and Dent thread, people got some damaged phones but they said the return process was easy.

Does this have the newer bands for T-mobile that the pixel 2 does not have?
