Miter is for wood, this is for metal.

Miter saws are for wood and occasionally aluminum, but never ferrous metals (that's where this tool excels).

"Got this for my husband and he loves it!
The chop saw was a gift. We have been redoing trim and we both are terrible with a miter box. My husband is intimidated by new tools but not this one! The action is smooth, the design is sleek, and it is SO easy to line up your cuts. The whole thing weighs way less than I thought it would. I just we we had purchased it years ago for all the times we cut and recut until we had to go buy more trim!"
Who would cut Trim with this, vs a Miter?

I have an 8" circular saw that cuts 1/2" mild steel and a 14" miter saw that will do the same.
Something like this will allow you to cut wood and steel. Accuracy on wood will not be as good as a miter saw made exclusively for wood.
Accuracy on metal will be better than with an abrasive chop saw. Abrasive saws tend to wander.
RPMs on a wood miter saw are too high to use one of the steel cutting blades like the one in the saw I linked.
Thanks for the advice. I will keep that in mind IF I ever need to cut some serious metal with my Miter saw....
