Samsung Galaxy A52 5G $424.99 ($75 OFF) NO TRADE-IN Samsung.com

Samsung did discount the new Galaxy A52 by $75. I don't see this offer on any other site yet (amazon or bb). I've been checking these phones for couple of days and was consistently at MSRP $499 until today. Not sure for how long. Probably even better with edu/save@work but I didn't have those.

This is a brand new 2021 model, seems very good.

FYI OP you should be able to use EDU/EPP without verification. Unless Samsung has changed something, they only verify for laptops and I believe they may verify randomly though that is not confirmed.

Thanks OP. Jumped on for about $315 all-in (less $70 in samsung rewards, $50 trade-in phone free from AMZ/TF last christmas). I'll return it if I get denied trade-in value. Don't forget P@W and various CB sites. Too bad racoon dropped their rate from 15% to 6%.

Great deal for a great phone! I purchased mine directly from Samsung a month ago when the US version was released. Since I was eligible for one of their special discounts, I received $40 off which basically paid for the tax.

The Galaxy A52 has a lot of features that even the high-end flagships have done away with, such as expandable memory and a headphone jack. It has 128 gb storage, a striking 1080p Super AMOLED infinity display, quad cameras with 64mp main lens/32mp front, and runs Samsung OneUI 3.1 with Android 11 on a perfectly decent Snapdragon 750g processor.

The only drawback is that the US variant is not available in the fun colors of its overseas counterparts, but there are plenty of great cases out there to make up for it. At half the cost of the S21, this is a solid choice with guaranteed 3 OS updates and 4 years of security updates.

I have the A71 and the mic quality sucks. iPhone 12 mini was just on sale for $504, much better phone.

Would the unlocked version of the A52 5g work on any carrier, and would it get wifi calling and HD Voice?

This is a very nice deal especially with all the discounts but is it GSM only or will it work on Verizon too?

Thanks....

The Galaxy A52 is a GSM device, so unfortunately it does not support Verizon's CDMA technology. From what I understand, GSM vs CDMA is a matter of 3G network compatibility, which is the default when 4G is unavailable. My knowledge is pretty limited, but here's a helpful explanation of the different frequencies and bands on which each network operates: https://www.whistleout.com/CellPh...-explained

In my case, I was looking for a new phone and a new carrier, so I bought the unlocked A52 from Samsung and severed a 15-year tie (more like a noose) with Verizon for Tracfone and I haven't looked back!

I can verify this phone does have HD calling (VoLTE) and Wi-Fi Calling available in the settings under Connections and Mobile Networks. In my experience, phone calls are loud and clear, and I haven't noticed any difference in quality so far using AT&T towers through Tracfone. There are even third-party apps for using Visual Voicemail, which was one of the few things that kept me with Verizon for so many years.

If staying with Verizon is important to you, they do offer the Galaxy A42 for use on its network, but the feature list differs quite a bit so you may want to compare the specs with the A52 if considering this option.

Thank you so much for that very helpful post regarding my questions.

I'm probably gonna pass as I need a phone that will work with Verizon.

Plus I would guess that it's not esim capable?

I'm probably gonna have to spend a bit more and get an Iphone.

That would pretty much check all my boxes.

For someone just looking for a gsm phone with 5g capabilities, I think this is a very nice deal.

Thanks again for posting.....

Verizon is shutting down their 3G CDMA network in Dec. 2022. From my understanding, their 4G LTE network extends to most everywhere they have service towers anymore and this phone supports these LTE bands as well as their nationwide 5G network. It does not support Verizons mmwve 5G technology network but Verizon does have a branded A52 phone which does.
I have had the unlocked A52 phone for a month now on Verizon and am well pleased with it.

It's a shame Samsung does not list as a trade-in option the prior model A51.
