Saw this at my local Walmart in an odd spot. They had a lot of clearance items above the display cases. There were several of these (500GB, 1TB and other sizes) above the headphones. When I checked Brickseek, the prices are ALL OVER THE PLACE! Another Walmart just 5 minutes away has it listed for about $60. That's a decent price but if you can find it for $25, GET IT.

This drive is compatible with USB Type C or Type A (adapter included.) Works with PC or Mac. I haven't tried it with my Playstation yet but I don't know of any reason why this wouldn't work for that as well.

Getting a little greedy there buddy.
I speak from the perspective of an severely abused Walmart brickseek user.

Limited stock means 0. 2-4 means 0 in stock. 6+ also means 0 in stock
3 in stock according to bs but nothing when I got there

For the record, here is my experience with this deal. Sorry I'm a little late clearly but I'm pretty happy with it.

5/31 - see a store ~25min away that BS says 2-3 in stock at $47.17. I make the drive there and lo and behold after a bit of looking 3 are sitting there on the clearance endcap they had in electronics in plastic lock boxes. I buy them all. My usual store 10min away had these at the $22.25 but obviously OOS. I was planning on doing return rebuy there the next day.

6/1 - go to said usual store. I tell customer service I noticed a lower price after I bought yesterday and washed to return rebuy. She said no problem. She then took one look at the receipt though and saw it was from the store across town, then told me "actually no sorry if you need a price adjustment you need to go back to that store, it's policy." Of course with my luck her badge said "team lead" so I didn't really push back at all on it. I asked her as I was walking out if it was a company policy or just this store. She said "as far as she knew it was direction given to the stores in this metro area." I was like "ok" and walked out.

Same day, next closest store with that price was 35-40 minutes away in a nearby small town. I make the drive, and the way everything went at that CS desk kinda weird, but it was still a good outcome.

I told the associate (elderly lady, which I'm only saying because I'm pretty sure it helped that she clearly had no idea what these products were) that I noticed a lower price and wanted to do a [B]price adjustment[B] and that I thought she could do it all as one transaction as a return (scan all three like a return, press sale and then exchange, scanning the three again which would refund the difference.) I worked retail in the past so I'm 95% sure that would've worked, but she just didn't understand what I was saying.

She scanned my receipt and saw the original price I paid. She then scanned the UPC and her register did indeed pull the $22.25 price. Then she said out of nowhere that she needed to call her manager over to do an override. At that point I was like oh no maybe this is sunk, the manager is going to give me trouble. Then the manager shows up 15 seconds later who also happened to be an elderly lady that didn't know what the products were either lol. She did some sort of override and said "it can only be refunded back to a gift card for a price adjustment just so you know." I was like "really it can't go back to the payment card?" to which she said "not for this kind of thing no." The original associate then activates a gift card for the difference of $24.92 x 3 + tax, and says there we go and handed me a generic gift card activation receipt. I was like uh what just happened lol because I didn't see any receipts referencing the products themselves. I asked for the receipt of the actual transaction, and she didn't see a customer copy, manager said "reprint it" she did, and I was about to walk out when I realized the reprint was actually for the last customer. I went back up to the side of the next customer in line and said "uh this isn't my transaction" and then she just grabbed a store copy off the counter and said "oh that one's yours" which I took and then left, only then realizing what happened.

They processed the whole thing as a no receipt transaction! Why they did it that way I have no idea, but I wasn't going to push my luck since a Walmart gift card is good at Sam's Club gas stations, and I exclusively fill my car at warehouse clubs. Might as well be cash to me I'm always going to need gas Smilie

Anyway that's my story. That no receipt record copy is attached if anyone is curious. I'll be using all 3 drives though so awesome deal!

I've set up an Brickseek alert for this and finally one of my local stores dropped the price and it shows 2-3 in stock. However, the Walmart app shows Availability Unknown for that store. Still worth a try?

Too bad that I waited and the availability in Brickseek changed from 2-3 in stock to Not in Stock. In this case I believe the availability info was real. 😢

I would say if that store is close, yes worth a try. I have had some remarkably good success on Walmart Brickseek deals but I also live in a relatively smaller area and I know countless people on here strike out every single time.

For the record, Brickseek directly pulls what the associates see on their computers/scanners. How they do this I have no idea but they do. The reason you see so many people saying "there were 2-3 in stock but none there" is because they actually are there but just buried deep in the back room somewhere (more unlikely) or there is just poor inventory management (more likely) by either humans, computers, or both, but most likely humans. I actually was able to score a laptop on one of these deals one time via the back room, so I'm not just blowing smoke there.

Walmart.com is usually pretty useless for clearance items, as usually the product has had Walmart delisted as a seller at that point both online and in store. That is not a hard and fast rule but more often than not. The product page will still exist, but it really is just for reference at that point.

Thanks! I was able to get them for $23 with tax! The 1TB version was also in stock according to Brickseek but I have no luck with that one.

Sweet! Glad I could help. Fwiw, with these Brickseek deals I've found as long as you go in with zero expectations whatsoever they can definitely be a more than worthwhile surprise sometimes. Like this is over 75% off at $22, absolutely no brainer worth it if you manage to get it.

If you've done your diligence though but you're now standing in the store empty handed, it's just on to the next one. If you establish expectations you're honestly establishing end disappointment a good amount of the time lol…I've had products say 6+ in stock on BS and nothing, so these Walmart in store clearance deals are definitely the very definition of YMMV but can be very very sweet if you manage to nab them.

Thanks so much! This is actually my first successful Brickseek hunt. 😀
Exactly! It's always YMMV. The 1TB model had 5 in stock and the 500 GB model had 2-3 in stock according to Brickseek so my expectation was pretty low for the 500 GB model. As it turned out I got the 500 GB model. I searched the clearance section like others suggested at first but no dice. It was hidden in the shelf with other drives but it was placed like a book in a bookshelf unlike other drives having their front facing outward so it took me a while to find it.

Thanks to the poster and the person who kicked this up!

I'm on vacay in the middle of nowhere and when I saw this I checked brickseek. Local store had 2-3 of the 1tb drives for $45, when I went there the "new" version was out front and scanned for $169.

I asked him to scan the remaining 500GB, that scanned for $21 so I took it.

Then on my pass out I noticed the boxes behind the first looked slightly different. Score! 3 for $45.

Do I need them? To be honest not really. I will find uses for them though. Wink

A store 30 miles away has them for $30 a pop. Crazy.
