I have not seen anything near the value of this. I know it has been this price before based off target reviews and that it is a budget monoprice quality but I ordered one and think it is still best value I have seen on slickdeals under $300.
Not for gaming specifically but really nice large curved ultrawide monitor with 100Hz.

Dark Matter is 1" smaller, has higher refresh (144Hz vs 100Hz), has slightly less curvature (1500R vs 1800R), is slightly brighter (400 nits vs 300 nits), has 2 hdmi & 2 dp inputs (vs 3 hdmi, 1 dp), slightly better contrast, $90 more expensive.. Some other minor differences, but those are the obvious to me.. Also, read a review on the Dark Matter stating that ghosting was very noticeable.

Update: a user pointed out to me that curvature is other way around: Dark Matter is more curved
Just FYI no usb c.

Pretty soon the norm will be 360° 8K screens with an accompany motorized swivel chair

Was considering this monitor, but ultimately decided against it.. Some features that matter to me that I noticed were missing:
No stand adjustments, USB ports or speakers. Slightly on the dim side at only 300 nits.

I bought one a couple months back. It is a GREAT monitor. I have no brightness complaints, bright fluorescent light and good visibility, switch lights off and monitor can be a bit too bright. Sunlight may be different, no comment on that.

By comparison I had a Acer 35" ultrawide before it rated at 250 nits aaaaannndddd that was dark. Not all nits are created equal I guess.

However, VESA is probably 75x75 like mine is, and there are little plastic trim pieces shrouding and blocking proper fitment of a VESA mount. So DO NOT expect to be able to use the VESA mount unless they fixed it by now. Which you won't be able to find out as it's typically 5-7 business day response time from their poor customer service, and they are uninformed on their own product.

Dimm? I actually had to dial down the brightness on this thing. Great 1440p monitor for the price on the $300-$400 range.

Yes and no. This is only an ultrawide. Really helps when it comes to finance and you need to see many windows at once

Brightness is dependent on your environment. In my case, I get a lot of natural light in my computer room.. Would not be a problem at all in a darker environment or at night.

Great value for the price indeed, I agree!

Brightness should only be an issue only if you use it in front of a window. Seems like getting 400+ nits with these other specs requires an extra $100.

Other stuff I wouldn't worry about. Good USB hubs are under $20, there's a speaker out so you can use actual good speakers, and stand height adjustment is not important with a big monitor like this as it sits further from your face.
