With it not being in stock until mid-July, I think I'd hold off and see if AMD releases a 5600 non-x, or the 5600x (or 3600) comes down in price. $193 is still a lot to pay for a processor that was available for around $150 last August. For a bit less you could buy a faster I5-11400(F), assuming you don't already have an AM4 motherboard.

11400F is definitely the play at this price range. Just need to pair it with a non power limiting board as entry B560 is crap.

Rumors are AMD is going to refresh zen 3 with an XT model at the end of this year. There's apparently issues with DDR5 and general availability. Looks like a late 2022 release for Zen 4.

Got this for my build last year for $155 and couldn't be happier with the performance and bang for buck. Even at $200 it's tough to beat if you're in AMD land. The current market is brutal so my condolences to anyone trying to put something together right now. Cheers.

I suppose $193 is better than the $200 MSRP but I can't help feel this is meh. There have been a decent number of used ones on ebay for $150-160 lately. B&H has the 11400 for $189 and at that price it's probably the better buy, just depends on motherboard prices. B560 boards were out of stock last I checked and cheap B450 (and in some cases B550) boards are plentiful. They don't make it easy.

Does anyone have a link/source for the breakdown of all the latest AMD CPU's? For example, a chart that shows the best to worst. It's been years since I built a new PC and Intel was at the top of the game back in the day but AMD took that role.

Also, I'm looking for a good motherboard for an AMD. Any recommendations that have the M.2 drives, BT, and WiFi built in? I would appreciate it. I just started looking the past couple of days. TIA

This is a good article to see where Intel and AMD stand at a glance. As you can see, the ryzen 5000s stand at the top most of the time.

As for AM4 platform recommendations, I would look at VRMs before the basic features. Good VRMs are essential to squeezing the most out of your processors. That and they get pretty toasty so decently cool ones help.

Thank you! I'm going to read it over. I'm interested in the 5600x which I hear is good bur hard to find. It sells out quick. I just need to be quick if I want it. But I may change my mind after reading this. Repped!

If the 5600x would drop to this price.... We can dream. This would be a great upgrade for X370 mobo owners that want to max out their chipsets. If I see these back at 150, or a 3700 around this pricepoint I'll probably upgrade my 2600. I really don't feel like getting a new motherboard AND CPU when we'll likely see AM5 next year.

The 5600x has been quite easy for me to find. It looks like stock has increased on some cpus but the 5900s and 5950s are very hard to find. 5600x now coming back and 5800x have always been available.

I was one of the suckers who spent 264$ on one a couple weeks ago on Amazon. But it's worth it because I got an epic B550 motherboard that just wasn't available a few months ago when the cpu was a lot cheaper. So even though I overpaid, waiting paid off because I got X570 level quality motherboard significantly cheaper

I didnt know the i5-11400 was better I bought one in February for $129 for my kid for school. I just bought an AMD board for my build, I guess I'll wait a little longer. Thanks

I bought my Ryzen 7 2700X new for $165 from Amazon. Those were the days - way back in 2019 🙄

Why is this even on the front page? A month and a half wait? So you put money down on third party sellers on Amazon which are famous for taking your money and don't offer the same level of service as through amazon even though this one claims to be through Amazon. SKETCH!!
