I'm sure there have been problems in the past, but I can also see people using this while they're phone is charging. The phone gets hot while charging and when you're also using the phone, you're going to overheat the battery over time and cause it to deform, just my thought.

Maybe just a problem inherent to battery pack cases in general.

Edit: Never mind I was thinking of the X and XS. The XR is a different size.

I purchased this 5+ months ago. As a comment above stated - it is good for additional power to get through the day, but doesn't really charge up beyond a minimal amount when phone is on.

So I got this before as they've apparently been trying to dump these for awhile

About the case:
1) The case is 'rubbery but slippery' if that makes sense
2) it attracts fingerprints like no tomorrow
3) previous iterations of the case had complaints the case disconnected too easily. This iteration is like very difficult to get off. So don't expect to be trying to swap this case frequently.

About the battery:
4) the 2000mah is delivered via wireless charging so you're not getting the most efficient method of getting that 2000mah to your phone.
5) In my own testing, you're getting about 30% additional battery (30% relative capacity when aka you'll go from 20% to 50%)
6) You do have to turn on the battery manually which can be good/bad depending on your situation
7) Since its 5W charging its not fast this may be problematic when combined with the need to manually turn it on. Aka if you're at like 5%, desperately turn it on and are trying to use Google maps (GPS + data) you might be draining the battery faster than it can e charged

Overall its not a bad thing especially for $10. The apple one has more benefits, but again is 10x the cost of this so well what do you want. If I paid the full MSRP I'd probably be more mad at this product.
