4tu 0 comment = "Popular"?
..when it's SD Staff posted and involves the SD extension

decent prices, but SD is wildly inconsistent on what gets promoted to popular.

I buy knockoffs of these at the flea market for $1.50 each. The markup on these vacuum water bottles is ridiculous especially when they go up to $50-$100.

Based on comments these don't look like they are dishwasher safe. Just FYI

I never wash items like this in a dishwasher anyway... love these things.

I've had many of these for years. The painted ones are not dishwasher safe (the paint will eventually chip off). The silver/metallic ones are fine for dishwasher use. In all cases, you can wash the lids/straws in the dishwasher. They've been super durable for me, and my favorite is the AutoSeal Chill (though it's only for cold liquids, not hot).

Anyone looking at getting the Contigo autoseal bottle should consider this Coleman instead:
https://www.amazon.com/Coleman-Fr...th=1&psc=1

It's about $5 more but it has a lot of nice features the Contigo doesn't:
Handles hot and cold liquids
Rubber bottom, less slipping off surfaces
Lock to prevent accidental trigger press
Spout comes apart for easy cleaning - major plus. Cleaning an autoseal cap without this is quite tough

I love the Autoseal bottles and the Coleman is basically the perfect version of autoseal I've found. Can't recommend it enough

So with shipping it's about what I'd pay on Amazon. Not really frontpage deal-worthy.

What about the thin seal around then lid? I had a different version and the seal was impossible to refit after a wash

What makes this one better? My wife and I own the Contigo and have positive experiences. If the Coleman is truly better, we'll switch.
