Southwire site states that all tools are "American Made", all reviews state "Made in China"

Not only this brand is deceptive but at no place do they tell you anything about the warranty, and all positive reviews are actually cumming from their site (rigged reviews).

Be very careful with them, better to stay away . . .
This made me laugh way too hard.

Southwire site doesn't say all tools are made in the US. They just have a line of US made tools for those who care. US made tools have "-US" at the end if the model #. Warranty is easily found linked from the Southwire home page or you can follow the link in the OP. Lifetime warranty BTW.

Thank you for posting the link to warranty.

The warranty is garbage and in it's not Lifetime, you have to mail the tool to them at your own cost. And the way the warranty is written they can just blame you for the damage.

Irwin warranty [lowes.com] is clear, "Lifetime warranty" right on top of the box in bold, and in the description on Lowes site and on Irwing site.

I always hate when someone posts a $10 tool deal and someone else comes in and says you should buy X for the $50 more, but I'm going to be that guy.

For $27 everyday you can get the Channellock 449. Or for $20 you can get the 338, which are an inch shorter but, more common in the field. Both made in USA and both with a lifetime warranty.

I'll second the Channellock. IMO the American Made Channellock stuff is very good. Much better than anything Dewalt, Milwaukee, Southwire, Kobalt, etc. Only line I'd put above Channellock is Knipex, but that's in a price category of itself.

My rule of thumb has always been: if you have to buy a tool, buy the best one that you can afford at the time. There is a reason that the good ones are not discounted--and, conversely, a reason why some are discounted.
