Hi Lilyly, not the ones in OP. This is their waterproof version [macys.com], but I think the price has been less in the past.

Make your bed more comfortable. I think that's it's primary duty actually.

To provide abrasion protection to the mattress - as you move the sheet rubs against the top cover. To provide protection against perspiration - without one your sweat goes right through the sheet into the mattress, yuck! Now, after having a cat empty his bladder on my bed Frown I understand the value of a waterproof one, but I still cannot stand the crunchy sound it makes when moving around.

Get a waterproof mattress protector (think of a fitted sheet, just a bit thicker I guess). Unless you are talking about ones from decades ago they aren't crunchy at all anymore.

I got a few of these last sale and they are far thinner then I expected. Material is decent, soft enough, not noisy, but they are thin. Like barely more then a couple fitted sheets together, with a tiny bit of fluff in between. Basically, you probably won't even notice you have it. Id say three stacked would be good lol, but then I'd wait for a 30 dollar thicker foam topper deal. Even 1 inch would be better.

Not everyone has to worry about wetting it at night.
