Without using any hub or dock, just one, using Type-C to HDMI or Displayport cable if you use a Thunderbolt 3 hub then it can drive 2 4K monitors at 60 Hz, one 5K monitor. Also, lot of docks can use DisplayPort MST protocol to split one video out signal and support multiple lower resution monitors.

Full Review Here: https://www.notebookcheck.net/HP-...910.0.html
  • This Model comes with a normal Barrel Pin 65W Charger but you can use Type-C Charging as well. However, since it has one Type-C port only, having a Barrel Pin Charger let you use that port without any hub, while charging the Laptop.
  • The GPU is the 12W version of Nvidia MX450 which is one of the slowest implementation of this Graphics card. However, as per the review above, in actual applications, it is 20% to 30% more powerful than Iris Xe. Also, MX450 is based on Turning architecture and basically a stripped down GTX 1650. It has the Turning based NVENC Encoder. If you're streaming or editing/encoding Video, this will help to accelerate the workload.
  • Regarding the SSD, if you select the option without Optane Memory then looks like it is coming with Intel 660P or 665P (as per the review) which is pretty old and not that fast compared to modern PCIe drives. The one with 32GB Optane is Intel H10 memory which is good amount of faster than 660P or 665P due to having that 32GB super fast Optane Cache.
  • Battery Life is also pretty good. In WI-Fi Test, with 150 nits brightness, it lasted over 10 hors and with max brightness, over 8.5 hrs.
  • The Display is one of the main highlight here. It is using Chi Mei CMN139D Panel and has a max brightness of 434 nits and average of 404 nits. Also, it has a far superior contrast ratio of $1839:1. Details below:
    • CMN139D
    • X-Rite i1Pro 2
    • Maximum: 434 cd/m² Average: 405.1 cd/m² Minimum: 24.2 cd/m²
    • Brightness Distribution: 83 %
    • Center on Battery: 413 cd/m²
    • Contrast: 1839:1 (Black: 0.23 cd/m²)
    • ΔE Color 3.2 | 0.59-29.43 Ø5.6, calibrated: 1
    • ΔE Greyscale 4.7 | 0.64-98 Ø5.8
    • 97.5% sRGB (Argyll 3D) 61.9% AdobeRGB 1998 (Argyll 3D)
    • Gamma: 1.99

Am looking for something similar. Solid day to day performance laptop that will last awhile. Not critical for gaming, nor graphic.
Thumbs up for the detailed explanation but this is not very slick with that price.
Also, aren't HP laptops considered unreliable?

These have a poor design. The hinges screw into metal anchors into the plastic chassis. After 1 Year of daily use, the anchors separated from the chassis, requiring a chassis replacement.

Not in my experience. I am currently using a 6 year old HP laptop that I am currently set to replace (only because the battery is failing and honestly I just don't want to spend the money for a 6 year old laptop plus mine has an HDD and I am so ready to make the switch to SSD).

I have zero complaints of this laptop and would have ordered another HP Envy, but I couldn't find a "killer deal" on one so I have a Lenovo on order. We'll see how that works out.

Check out the reviews on this - I think you'll find it gets great marks. Just my 2 cents.

I made a huge mistake buying my Lenovo Yoga 720. The laptop barely lasts 2 hours under normal tasks. At the time I thought HP and Dell were unreliable. Both hp and dell give you better ports as well.

I am using it since 2018, with the i7-8565U and MX150 and not having issue.

Also, aren't HP laptops considered unreliable?
HP Laptops considered unreliable is too generic of a statement, almost foolish level. Don't get me wrong, not trying offend you or anything. HP, as a Company, just like any other Companies like Dell, Acer or Lenovo, makes hundreds of different series of laptops, probably from $150 to $5000, divided into different series and each of these series gets refreshed in regular intervals. So, stating HP Laptops or all Laptops from any Company unreliable simply doesn't make any sense. You need to go by specific series and the revision.

I'm using a 1.5 year old Pavilion at the moment. The fan went out really quickly (like, first month and it sounded like an AC130.) Contacted HP, they sent a one day shipping label and box to ship it to them in. They were always super quick, but after three times, I gave up and dealt with the loud fan and occasional overheat. Two weeks ago, the screen started flickering, so I went to open it up to inspect what's wrong. The techs had stripped the screws and the hinge wasn't even placed right. That annoyed me, so I emailed HP's corporate about how jacked up my laptop was now (but I understand the warranty was expired.) A day later, a rep contacted me and apologized and sent me another box for them to make it right. They repaired everything in under a week and I FINALLY have a good working laptop that doesn't sound awful. My experience was pretty bland, but I am super happy that they righted their wrong and I am stunned that they did it outside of the warranty. Don't know if I'd still purchase another HP, but I will give customer service an A+.

decent deal... but no matter how I configure it, the shipping estimate is 7/13 or later. Frown

does HP let people cancel before it ships? (in case I find something better in the next month)

Thanks!
