Thanks.

I buy the batteries to satisfy the Ink Rewards requirements.

A lot of people talk about the batteries leaking and I had this problem in the past. About 18 months ago I bought a fishing box that keeps out the elements and put all my batteries in that. Eventually, I had to buy a second fishing box.

I store the fishing boxes with the batteries in a walk-in closet and live in South Florida. As a test I took a few batteries out of the fishing box and put it in a small zip lock bag. The batteries in the small zip lock bag leaked. While all the batteries in the fishing box have not leaked.

The first fishing box I got is a Plano orange box. It's usually $15 but I got it for around $4. The second box is a Flambeau which I got for under $5 with a smoked clear look and has compartments.

If I remeber correctly from one of the hundreds of Duracell leaks post someone mentioned that Duracell had change where the bThat might be a [atteies where manufactured and that is when the leaking problem started. That might be a possible reason that your batteries never leaked.

In regards to the price matching to save sales tax, price matching will save me a total of 30 cents in sales tax. So is it really worth the extra 5 or 10 minutes to get them to do the price match to save 30 cents?

It also reduces the OOP spend and rewards you will have to spend later. One less stamp I have to buy.

Can someone explain how this works, I've never done office depot rewards before, so if you price match to $10, does that mean you get a $10 certificate back?

And how do you use this certificate? Just buy anything on the website and get $10 off?

And are you sure this deal is active, why does the deal say ends 5/29? I can't get the 100% reward promo to show up unless I go in incognito mode on my browser, is adblock blocking it?

Walmart has the AAA for $10 even or AA for $10.48. It is easier to get them to PM Walmart.

Yes

Yes it is effectively a gift card. You can also use in store. FYI you'll have a $9.95 shipping charge on online orders under $50.

The Office Depot intern is a notoriously sloppy copy-paste fiend who doesn't check the fine print.

This certificate should be issued the day after you make the purchase and be valid until 09/30.

For anyone new to this, prior to buying the batteries, enroll in the Rewards program. I recommend scraping together as many empty ink cartridges as you can, up to 10 per month with a $10 qualifying purchase, and recycling along with your battery purchase to get $2 Rewards per cartridge (issued next month) and make it more worth your while.
