When I got both together, I noticed that the one that has a hole in the box is a lot heavier, maybe like 5 pounds heavier. Are there different versions of this speaker set?

I noticed that the version with the amp takes a bit to warm up before it got to it's full power. When testing it, I was a little disappointed with the amp version since it didn't really have the power that I was expecting from the satellite speakers. I was checking to see if I had the connections seated properly and noticed that the back of the sub was getting warm. When I tested it again, I got the power that I was expecting. The digital version was good to go right after plugging it in.
Other differences for those who are curious is that the sub wires from the satellites are stiffer and the positive wire has a brighter red color on the digital version. The back plate is also different on the sub woofers. It is just under 8 inches across on the amp version and just under 9 inches across for the digital version.
I couldn't really tell a difference from sound between the 2 versions at full power, but I'm not really an audiophile, but both versions sound good to me.

Klipsch has never made a Promedia 2.1 system with a power on/off switch, ever. Stop spreading false information.
See attached.

The subwoofer is around 15-Lb. Do you know my speaker is amp version or digital version?

If you're modifier savvy enough you can even mod the satellites to use 3.5mm connections so you can easily unplug the satellites audio cable instead of having the default hard cable. That's what I did.
I used these along with some speaker wires, wire stripper, and a soldering iron to make my own custom connection to the satellites:
MJS-CM Stereo 3.5mm Female Jack Chassis Mount Audio Connector
NYS 231 REAN 3.5mm Nickel Stereo Mini Plug
NYS226BG 2-Pole Mono 3.5mm Plug (Black)
For reference, if your sub-woofer ever blows out in the future you could replace it with the "Tang Band W6-1139SI 6-1/2" Subwoofer" as it just drops in but it's not worth replacing the stock subwoofer on a brand new Klipsch 2.1 Promedia speakers because it's not cost efficient. And also the box is not ported for the Tang Band subwoofer for the low end. For $89 currently, it's not a good bang for your buck to upgrade the subwoofer.
I swapped out with tang bands on a newer set bought recently and an older set bought in 2018.
the left speaker developed static noise that is present even when the audio jack is unplugged from the source
now there's static all the time as long as the speaker is on even if the volume is all the way down
garbage speakers imo
