As a BIG FYI to everyone, even though it's not stated ANYWHERE in their fine print, refurbished items ARE NOT covered. They considered it "used/pre-owned," even though it's been renewed by the manufacturer. No mention of refurbished anywhere in their documents.
Amex, however, specifically states that factory refurbished items are covered. Live and learn. Amazon generic batteries are ~$50, so going that route.
What if there isn't any refurb left to replace? full refund? including the 3-year warranty?
