Compared to RGB strip lights, the RGBIC strip lights have an added color chasing mode, and with a unique built-in IC chip, the RGBIC strip lights are able to display multi-colors at one time like a rainbow or aurora.

I'm looking for something like this for our deck at our camp ground so we can see the steps at night. Is there a better alternative for something like that?

There are better waterproof rated lights for outdoors. These are colorful so but not the kind that adapts to the music.

It depends on your goal. If you just want lights so you don't trip, just grab a couple Solar String Lights. We have them going up the railing to our deck, but you can also put them between the boards on your steps and use clear silicone to keep them in place. This is just one link, but you can usually get them for about $6 per line...as long as it's not Christmas. Smilie

We also use them around the perimeter of our deck. Since the wires are so small, you can slip them between the boards and they're out of sight. But test them a few nights before actually installing them to make sure they actually work. We learned that the hard way. bulb Enjoy!

Unfortunately not, sorry. The lights I used stopped working, so I pulled them off and didn't replace them yet.

The railing on our deck is built where the railing cap is horizontal, and the top rail facing you is vertical. (sorry, had to google the terms) Deck Diagram [decks.com] Since each board is beveled, where the 2 meet up there is a gap between them. That's where we put the lights. I just stuffed some dead leaves in there to hold the string in place every 8"-10", then put clear caulk over on the string between them. I tried thumbtacks first, but the dead leaves actually worked better, but I'm sure there's a smarter method. Smilie When the silicone dried, I just pulled out the leaves!
