I have the Air, the Aeropex, and the Opencomm (for work). I really like these headphones. They have good-enough sound quality but offer tons of benefits over regular headphones: can still hear clearly around you, light and comfortable, good battery life, easy pairing, and good overall experience.

The older model Airs are great, but the Aeropex is an upgrade in every way: sound quality, comfort, mic quality. The drawback is that it has a proprietary charger instead of microUSB on the Air, and they are more expensive.

The Opencomms are awesome for work calls, which I'm on all day basically. The battery will last a full day, sound is great, and the boom mic is as good as the gold-standard Voyager 5200 in my opinion.

All 3 pairs have been super durable and held up to my sweaty running regimen of ~25mpw. I'm glad to answer any questions.

This is a good price.

I was on the fence a long time for these headphones, as a runner, I decided to just jump on it last time Amazon had it at 129.99. Reviewers always complain about quality, and it's not as immersive as a closed back pair of headphones, but for exercising outside, these are absolutely fantastic. I can't recommend these enough. These are absolutely fantastic. The sound is definitely good enough while running out in the community.

If you're a runner, definitely pick these up.

I see that Aeropex and Opencomm are the same price and wonder how they compare.

Is the boom mic on Opencomm that much better than the built-in mic on Aeropex? What are the main advantages of Aeropex compared to Opencomm? For someone with only moderate needs for Zoom meetings, what would you recommend?

Thanks!

I have both. The OpenComm is better at picking you up because of the boom mic, but for whatever reason, it sits further back on my head so I have to have the volume higher to be comparable to the Aeropex. But in quiet environments, feedback has been that even my iWatch has a better microphone than either one, which is a pity.

You may want to send yours in for a replacement. My mic is awesome. I asked a few people to tell me which they like better between it and my voyager 5200 and they couldn't tell a difference. Have never had a complaint about voice clarity and I use mine a lot.

As for aeropex vs opencomm: aeropex if youll use it more for sports. Aeropex has a noticeabley inferior mic (since it's further away) but doesn't have the boom which is annoying and awkward looking if running with it. Mic is still acceptable on aeropex, just not as good as the opencomm. Opencomm is the choice for calls and zoom. Much better mic sound. Both work great for music and voices when it comes to hearing them. Keep in mind that any bone conducting is going to be inferior to goo in ear or over ear headphones, but I still think they sound fantastic and I can still hear my family when they want to ask me something and I'm on a call. That's why I have both, one for running, one for work.

In for an Air as a gift.

These are king for biking/running so that you can still hear everything around you, have a conversation, etc. Sound quality is fine for me. I have the Titaniums which are the cheapest of the line and seem to be discontinued. No complaints, especially for the ~$35 I got them for on a previous slick deal. Have done a 2 hour run in the rain with them and no problems.

Based on reviews I've looked through the Air is probably the best bet for most people. Beware of issues with the MINI version of the Aeropex. I'm going to keep using my Titaniums which have been going a year strong, but might get another Air or upgrade to the Aeropex if something slicker hits in the future/when my cheapos bite the dust.

To add to your point. I had to file a warranty claim on my Aeropex due to it rattling. They were as good as dealing with Costco. They really put customers first. I filled a claim and had a completely brand new pair (in regular retail box so it included new carrying pouch, charging cable, their awesome ear plugs, etc) within a few days. They didn't require a return of the originals, so I keep them as a backup or let the kids use. HIGHLY recommend the company from this perspective.

I'd also reiterate what others have said about loving this headset. I West mine literally all day (7am to 10pm), except to charge, because they are so comfortable. I often find myself forgetting that I even have them on my head. I've never had a headset I could wear that's so comfortable.

Can you elaborate on the Mini issues? I have the air and love them, but was looking at upgrading to the Aeropex Mini because I have a tiny head.

The problem sounds like a physical connection problem with battery that causes them to turn off with very little motion. Here is the main thread I came across about the issues: https://www.reddit.com/r/headphon...aving_the/

If link doesn't work, google "site:reddit.com aftershokz aeropex mini issues" and a few threads should come up.

I would note most people have not had an issue getting them replaced (good Customer Service) but doesn't sound like the problem is resolved.
