Resort fees $25.30 per day
Parking fee per day $35
5 minutes walk to beach
Some reviews say it's getting old and shabby pool is small no ice machine upper floors Due to Covid they only clean every 3rd day "upon request"small parking stalls and tight ramps make it hard to park
good luck finding a hotel in hawaii without resort and parking fees
I was there 12/2019 right before covid. the Pool is a joke, we went there for 30 minutes one day out of our week. Not sure why we were there that long. Our upper floor did have an ice machine but we rarely used it, we were in Hawaii so we were out and about everyday. I bought my package through orbitz and the fees were all in there in the original payment so I had no additional resort fees. This price seems like it's more than what we paid back then, We paid roughly 1k per person for flight + 1 week of stay. Based on this that would be 350 + 464 = $814 and that's without the flight.

Key here is select test centers approved by the Hawaii government! I've been reading in the news that thousands of visitors to Hawaii were forced to quarantine for 10 days or return since the negative tests weren't from the tiny list of State of Hawaii approved test centers! The whole system is a sham to get each person to pay $130 for a COVID test that is free everywhere else!
You know, you can always go to Walgreens, their PCR tests are accepted by Hawaii there are several near your zipcode. LOL

What a comment. I'd hazard a guess you've never "stayed" in a county jail let alone spent time in North Korea. Equating public safety guidelines during a pandemic that has killed 600k Americans with jail, North Korea and "communism" seems a little overdramatic, no? As another commenter pointed out, the ten day quarantine is waived if you test negative.
Every state has moved on by now. Only communist Hawaii does not follow CDC guidelines and other states and does not accept fully vaccinated people with proof to bypass the needless $130 test fees!

I tried, there are only a few and they charge you $130 for the test, no exceptions and they won't budge!

FWIT I hated Waikikiki the most out of my 2 island honeymoon. It's like NYC with palm trees if thats what you were after. I stayed at Turtle Bay which has more of a north shore vibe.

Even if you have a kitchenette you can't leave your hotel room for 10 days for any reason even for food or groceries! You have to order food at the hotel or get delivery to your room. You might as well stay in the county jail for free during your 10 day mandatory quarantine in Honolulu. Cops have been arresting violators and throwing them in jail and issuing a $5,000 citation and have a misdemeanor offense on their criminal record after hotel staff alert police of customers leaving their rooms!

Personally, I would rather stay in North Korea than in communist Hawaii!

We flew in to Maui 10 days ago and as long as you upload negative Covid test using the listed approved testers for Hawaii you will not have to quarantine. You'll receive a QR code that will be scanned once you arrive at the airport. If you don't have this done prior to your arrival it's mandatory 10 day quarantine.

Also FYI I just came back from South Korea this past March after living there 2 years (loved it). Believe me you don't wanna stay in North Korea especially if you have a choice of Hawaii. Plus, it's mandatory 14 days quarantine once you land in Korea and doesn't matter if you've been tested or vaccinated.

As someone with plenty of Outrigger experience, they are a management company for privately owned condos...and it is up to the owner to decide how nice or shabby the condo is. So in 1 complex you can have a horrid experience or the best ever! How do you have the best...call them and ask about the unit you are booking about when it was last updated, the condition of the condo...they have that information and will tell you. We would then request "what is available that has been updated in the past 2-3 years" and get a great stay. Our last Outrigger on Maui, super modern, clean, really roomy, and amazing sunset views...but in that same complex reviews of "gross, dated, etc...". Asking and being nice goes a long way...
Isn't Outrigger Malia a hotel and not a condo?

Ove Hawaii reaches 60% full vaccination rate, which it will before July 4, the COVID test may not be required. There are reports that once that threshold is attained, visitors from mainland US will only need proof of vaccination (I think they will require the documents to be uploaded online to the verification site and for a hard copy to be produced on arrival)

Price-wise, yes. At $349 for two nights are better off getting a higher rated hotel at the same price or less. Hilton Garden Inn was pretty good, would be around that rate for two nights if you booked direct.
But Hilton Garden Inn isn't close to the beach is it?

Neither are on the beach, but it's slightly closer to Waikiki Beach than the Waikiki Malia

Is the price for Hilton Garden Inn the same as the Outrigger Malia?

Pretty sure you have no idea what 'communist' means.

None, haven't stayed there. It's right across from the beach though. However I am planning on staying at Hyatt Centric Waikiki this fall -- it is further from the beach but is newer, has better reviews, and is less expensive.

Not for three nights with this deal, Outrigger Malia is cheaper because it includes taxes/fees but not the resort charge ($22/night+tax). If you book months ahead, the published rates are about the same, however Hilton Garden Inn charges a higher resort fee at 30$/night+tax.
