I'd magine it could be appropriate, depending on familiarity with video games. But what I've heard about the Lego Harry Potter series is that they're frustratingly riddled with bugs (ranging from minor to game breaking). Stopped me from picking them up last time.

I can attest for the bugs with lego Harry Potter and I had to restart a few levels but nothing major that my kids couldn't enjoy

I had bugs in most lego games not game breaking but have to restart the level.
