I was able to reproduce the price by going through perksatwork
So after Lenovo's discount it was down to about $599? then another 5% on top of that ~$570
BTW, I just realized that if you go through perksatwork, you can get it for $579, and if you use the correct credit card, can you get it down to as low as $550.
I think I will finally jump on this when it become available again.
If your employer has a discount site like Lifemart or accesstowork they will give you the link and the password
I've been happy with it so far. I'm mostly using it for coding. The screen has been sufficient for me, but I'm not doing anything that requires perfect color representation. Nice that it's anti-glare.
Minor gripes:
- The fingerprint reader is bad - a lot of times it takes 4-5 taps to register correctly. Takes longer than typing a PIN. Sometimes I get lucky and it correctly registers with my push to power it on.
- SD card slot only pulls half the card in - half remains outside the slot. If you were thinking about putting an SD card in the slot and leaving it there permanently for auxiliary storage, you won't want to do that if you're moving this laptop around.
- Keyboard backlight is either on or off - there is no timeout function like my old Inspiron had, or my daughter's Flex has for that matter (backlight comes on with activity, then times out after a period of inactivity)
- If you want to charge and run a monitor from the USB-C port at the same time, you'll have to buy a USB-C hub. I'm using one I found on Amazon for $20 and it works fine.

I was a bit concerned about the screen but at 14inch I think 1080p is good enough. I was thinking to wait for the ideapad 5 pro, but that will cost twice as much as this one and I really just one this one for simply coding and running some of my electronics project that requires windows.

Thanks. I should have it next week. One thing I'm curious is that I always like to wipe the machine and have a clean install (it's been a very long time since I have gotten a new laptop). Can I install windows on it and then install whatever Lenovo software that I think I need?

- Lenovo Vantage - needed to install this to toggle Battery Conservation Mode on and off since I mainly use while plugged in and wanted to use this feature.
Those two things are fairly unobtrusive and I haven't noticed any side effects of them being installed.
