Well worth the money in my opinion. I have tried many knee pads overvthe years and these are the best for me. My only issue is with tile floors I would prefer a smooth surface instead of the waffle pattern. That way thinset or grout would be easier to wash off. But still my favorite.

Trowel size depends on the tile that you use. Generally speaking, small tile uses small notch trowel and big tile uses big notch trowel. So the 1/4 might be perfect for a subway tile backsplash and the 1/2 might work great for floor tiles, but it's best to have a range available and use the size that results in full coverage (lay a tile, then pull it up and look) without squeeze out.

I watched one of those online Home Depot classes, to get a 15% Off coupon. It was on Tiling. They talked about the break off spacers like they were amazing. I am a Home Depot Seeds Member. They offer me free tile all the time. I never accept, because I have never tiled and did not have the tools. SD may have created a tiling maniac!

Which of these tools would be absolutely essential for when I redo tiles in the bathroom?

Also, anyone know if some of these tools are dual purpose for applying a scratch coat of mortar or plaster? (Looking at the Floats specifically.)
That I will be doing this summer.

I'm not sure if I'd call these a necessity for doing tile work, but in my DIY life I can attest to them as a time saver. I've used this exact system to do a bathroom purchased at full price and would have paid double. For 50% off I'm buying a few hundred tops and a few hundred of each type of stem.
