fark buying anything from Newegg and fark their restocking fee and fark their return denials.. Buy from Amazon, newegg is too stingy with what they decide to accept as a return.

I have not been in the market for new case but just browsing for potential new build and noticed that none of the newer cases have support for removable disk cages. My current low end case (Antec SLK3800B mid-tower) had space for 5 internal 3.5" HDDs (removable cage), 4 external 5.25" drives, and 2 external 3.5" drives. Is this feature a thing of the past? I do not game so RGB lighting, glass side cover, etc. is not important for me. Just needed case with good air-flow, space for 2-4 fans and several drives.
This case has a removable cage for two 3.5" drives plus mounting slots for two 2.5" drives, so four total. Most newer cases sacrifice the little used built-in external drive bay space to accommodate fans/radiators, since you can always plug in additional external devices via USB if you need them.
I was looking at this case on Newegg a few hours ago after watching gamer nexus say it was a top case and wondered was it worth posting for $10 off. Shout out to the poster. Won't let me rep you for some reason but thumbs up.
Would just buy the GPU and CPU first at this point. Make sure you can get the ones you want at MSRP before buying a case to sit around your place while you wait.
Next desktop I build is when whatever tier mid range(equivalent to what tier the GTX 970 was at release) graphics card is $390 or less MSRP. If that never happens I guess I'm done.

Amazon charges a 15%+ restocking fee even if you return items in an unopened box. They did that to me. On the other hand, never had any issue with Newegg thus far
If you want a case that supports more than two mechanical drives that also has cooling with fans blowing on them, Fractal Design Meshify 2 and 2 XL are the only one I've found. Otherwise HDs are an afterthought now. The non-removable cages are usually found on the cheaper cases.

Yeah amazon is changing. First their Prime two day shipping guarantee became optional on their end, and now they are charging restocking fees and warning customers about returns. It's become a bad option for apparel shopping or things that might require a high return rate. I don't buy expensive items from them anymore after receiving used when I paid for new multiple times and don't want to risk restocking fees.
Those two 200M fans at the front does not have 4 pin. A super let down.
Do you mean 4 pin RGB or PWM? 3 pin RGB has become the standard on most current motherboards at the time of this case's release. The fans are 800rpm 200mm fans. There is little reason to run those at anything less. 3 pin for voltage control is perfectly fine. Off(usually under 5v), low(5-7v), and full speed(12v) is more than enough.

The Lian LI Lancool Mesh 2 has a removable disk cage at the bottom in front of the power supply. It holds 5 3.5" or 5.25" drives, and according to Gamers Nexus tests has the best thermal performance out of the box of any case they've tested. Cases with slots for optical disk drives are a thing of the past, but there are still plenty of cases with HDD cages. Though cases without HDD cages are becoming a bit more common with the increasing popularity of m.2 drives.

Except it weighs 50 lbs. I won't be buying anything with glass in the future
