It is not the newest 2021 model. These reels on sale were first introduced in 2018. They are EXCELLENT reels.

The title says Freshwater but it can be used for Saltwater fishing.

Very light - Weighs 7.2 ounces (25); 7.5 ounces (30); 8.4 ounces (40). But it has ton of drag. Again the numbering is confusing but they mean 2500, 3000, 4000 respectively.

Only 3000 and 4000 are available, no 2500.

Store pickup available depending on your location.

Shipping is FREE over $25 order.

From amazon review: Great mid-price reel and usually a good price on Amazon. Not overly built like my Diawa BG, but much lighter for all day fishing. I have been using them for bass tournaments, smooth drag and nice line lay with braid.

Thumbs up for all the fishing deals!
They do have a 25 if you click the 6.2:1 gear ratio. Just checked it. Thx.

Yea, fly fishing is a different beast all together. The big difference with fly fishing is that you're relying on the weighted line to deliver/present your fly as opposed to spinning/baitcasting/traditional gear where you typically are adding sinkers/weight to the line separately. Fly fishing tends to be more 'finesse' by nature, not to say you can't finesse fish with regular spinning gear (this would just involve using lighter weight setups, light weights, etc).
I will say that learning how to fly fish is much more 'multi-dimensional' compared to conventional/normal/regular fishing. It's a completely different set of gear and probably the most important thing you'll need to learn is how to cast and line management. It gets into other things too, like choosing flies/patterns and eventually tying your own flies. It's one of those hobbies that gets expensive really quickly depending on how far you want to dive in... and it's not easy to find yourself in the deep end of the pool with it. It is a lot of fun though. Perhaps consider looking to drop-in on a local fly fishing/fly casting club meetup in your area, if one exists.
Thank you for the answer and suggestions!

Ditto on the filler and 2x reels. I found a couple smalls bags of sinkers for the filler.

I walked into a local fly fishing store, randomly picked up a wooden landing net and realized it's more expensive than the best bass rod I have. At that moment I knew it's not a sport it is an obsession.

I live an hour or so from a place (Roscoe NY) that got "Ultimate Fishing Town" from a poll from World Fishing Network. After that, all the prices in shops went up a lot since a lot more people started showing up.Business people were arguing among themselves as some were just becomng pikers etc.. Then the size of the fish started shrinkng lol. Otherwise its beautiful up there. People wouldn't guess it was NY from photos

For you fishing gurus… I am looking for my own salt water reel to go fishing with my pops. We usually go out for haddock and cod sized fish. Appreciate any help and guidance.

This is no way (even the 40) will do haddock and Cod fishing. Those are different set of reels all together. This will do inshore fluke, scup, seabass, well.
