This or the Bissell on Amazon for $89? I bought a Hoover a couple years ago and it started leaking. Kinda soured me ever since.

I would get the Bissell for $79 at Walmart. I have that one and works great and easy to clean afterwards.

Same! My Bissells have all fallen apart. Hoovers are the ones that have lasted forever.

I would get one where the handle can be pulled out to become a stick vac. It's amazing, no more having to bend down to suck up a corner.

I have a similar model. Already paid for itself after 4 cleaning sessions. I usually throw down baking soda after a session of cleaning and take a broom to knock it all the way down and after a couple hrs or half a day vacuum it up. Carpet is soft and dry.

After a cleaning I recommend breaking it down and clean it out.

Belt driven. I took apart mines every cleaning session to clear out all the dog hair. Yeah...got dogs.

This isn't meant to be a vacuum because its design to draw out water, there is no dirt collection bags. I would rather a vacuum function separate from a carpet cleaner.

I had a portable bissell for cars. 1st one leaked and got a 2nd one free, was able to keep the 1st one. 2nd one hasn't leaked since but I'm guessing its because I started taking it apart and cleaning it up. I'll look into why the 1st one was leaking but it might be a rubber gasket or a disconnected hose inside.
