---Xbox updated the conversion rate in May after I stocked up in April, so making a new post with correct info.---

EA Play conversion to Game Pass Ultimate is still the cheapest and consistent option. Yes, Xbox has reduced the amount of conversion from 4 months to 2 months, but with the current price on CDKEYS, this is the cheapest you can get Ultimate for, since there is no tax.

Every 12 months of EA Play converts to 2 months of Game Pass Ultimate

Therefore 6 years of EA Play = 1 year Game Pass Ultimate

CDKEYS has these passes currently at $20.99 (no tax)

6 x 20.99 = 125.94 (no tax)

Regular 3 Month Game Pass Ultimate is $44.99

4 x 44.99 = 194.81 (with tax)

Target $30 3 month Game Pass Ultimate

4 X 30 = 129.9 (with tax)

If you wait until your GPU expires you can still convert Gold to GPU 1:1 but you will have to pay $14.99 once to convert. After you pay the $14.99 it will convert 1:1 and show your next billing date as whatever date the Gold would have expired. Even if you pay retail for the Gold it's a lot cheaper. My GPU expired 3 weeks ago. I just did this 6-7 hours ago. $59.99 x 3 + $14.99 = $194.96 for 3 years. You could lower this more by buying the Brazilian Gold subscription or Target has buy 1 get 15% off gold subs right now.

Yeah I wish I saw this news before it happened. Would have got 1 more in before the change. Still good until 12/2023 but I do not see it being that cheap ever again.

Still a terrible deal, You can go to Eneba and buy 7 Day Cards for about $1.50 each making it way cheaper than buying EA Cards

The EA Conversion is not the cheapest and it just got worse

Yeah, but this is really only certain for someone whose sub is expiring soon.
If yours is expiring in say 2022, what's to guarantee that MS would still have this option open by then

It didn't work for me last Christmas.. 1yr Gold even after paying that extra $14.99, got me 7 months of Ultimate.. since my GPU was up next month, I just bought 28x7 days subs off Eneba for 196 days of GPU - which is cool for me, as I'm not using my Xbox as much as I used to.

That's because your Ultimate sub was still active. You need to let your Ultimate sub completely expire before stacking Gold and re-upgrading, that's how it works. If it didn't work for you, you did it wrong because it still works that way for everyone else.

Getting back to this deal, yes it's super lame they nerfed the hell out of the EA cards, it's no longer the way to go IMO.
