the majority of performance improvements were experienced when moving from hdd to sata ssd's. going from a premium sata ssd to a premium nvme ssd had almost ZERO benefit for me.
get something that's cool and has a good warranty and reputation. you should be fine.

Performance seems close giving P31 the edge but I probably won't notice a difference. This will be going into my PC which has a built in M.2 heatsink. The efficiency and heat seems to be the selling point for the P31 but is it worth the difference? Maybe for longevity?

edit: Looks like P5 is Lightning Deal now plus another $5 Prime discount and $15 Chase discount for total of $35 after tax cheaper. Still worth the difference?

Nowadays, the performance of premium hardware is fast enough that I don't think I'll mind if a game starts in 9 seconds instead of 8 on NVME! Especially if it used to start in 22 seconds on SATA SSD or 45 seconds on SATA HDD...
